Internet Doesn't Work In Gmod?

When I boot up gmod and go to the server list it doesn't show any server's. And when I alt+tab and open chrome my internet doesn't work. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I have this same problem.

Only thing I can say is that Gmod's server browser is an internet whore.

firewall's probably blocking it.
same thing happened to me, for some reason windows decided that garry's mod shouldn't have internet

if you tried tweaking your firewall, try this googling "Client dropped by server and Warning: Connection Problem" and go to the steam support page

apparently the link i was trying to send was detected as a referral link
