Author Topic: Is the 2DS worth it only to play Animal Crossing and one or two other games?  (Read 1355 times)

And a disadvantage of the 3ds are the hinges because they break easily

this is some tight quantum physics stuff right here.

My (red) 3DS XL survived a 4 foot drop directly down. Only damage was some scratches.

Niko, lets go bowling

So here is your cousin, just saying that if you open the hinges too fast, it may sometimes break, and if you accidentally drop the DS with the screen faced to the floor, the hinges may break and go over the extreme position and go whack.
(I had actually 3, but my mom made a ragequit once when I played too much and smashed my DS into the floor)

My grey/gray XL fell from a bathroom toilet level on its side and it got scratches too and the paint job cracked a bit on the back hand of the screen in one of the corners.

I don't see why someone wouldn't just put their 3DS in a bag in which a 2DS fits fine as well.

If you're going to go outside, I'm betting that you cannot fit your 3ds, keys, phone and wallet (maybe headphones) in the same 2 pockets.
That's kind of easy. I do it if I'm visiting places. If at college then I carry the 3DS in my bag though.

Wallet and keys in one pocket, 3DS and phone in another. (I will admit that I have a small phone though).
Or another way is that, like a lot of people, you have your wallet in your back pocket and you have a whole pocket free for the 3DS.

Headphones, assuming they're the sort that sit on your head with a band over the top of it, then you can wear those around your neck or on your head. (Who carries them in their pocket?)
Earphones can just fit in any pocket since they're so small.

I think I would agree with snot that a 3DS is nicer for AC:NL on account of streetpass, which is also a bonus for a number of games.

On whether or not you should buy the console just for that game then that's up to you and how much you like the game.
If you really like it, then go for it.

And if you do have the 2DS/3DS then you can always keep an eye out for any cheap DS/3DS games out there that you might like to play. I didn't have a lot planned when I got my 3DS, other than anticipating the next Pokemon game to be 3DS only, but since then I've picked up a few additional games I wouldn't have considered, some physical copies and some digital.

i really enjoy that tiny green light :D

I get upset if I go out with my 3DS and come home with no green light.

I just wish I lived somewhere where more people had one.
I maybe get 2-3 people a day at College, and it's always the same people.

Most I've gotte was at Land's End, weirdly.
A lot of German people there when I went, which was odd. You don't consider places like that to be tourist attractions for foreigners.

yoshis new island is beep boop like new super mario bros.

I have both Pokemon X and Y and I'm not even a pokemon fan

this game is great

I got my 3DS XL last month with New Leaf and got Pookyman X for free. (I never really played pokemon before, finished the game.)

I think my only complaint are of course the hinges and how easily fingerprints collect on it. After a week, the screen seems oddly loose even being in one of the locked positions.

I have had a 3ds since release day, and mine hasn't faced one single problems, except for the head phone jack not working occasionally. I would suggest it over a 2ds, and I would pick up Pokémon Y and Mario Kart 7 for games.

I've not had hinge problems at all. The only problem for me is the scratching of the top screen by the bottom.

Ok thanks guys! I think I made up my mind! I want to get a 2DS sometime this year!
