True
Most shooters seem to be kids though. And the harder it is for the younger to get their hands on a weapon the happier i feel. Maybe advanced firearm classes for adults should be mandatory to decrease irresponsibility as well.
It is already a crime for anyone to leave their firearms out in a place where children may gain easy access to them. A responsible gun owner locks his firearm up in a box, a bad one will hind them in a closet, on top a fridge, or in an unlocked drawer. A good safe is all you need and to educate your kids on firearm safety.
So schools are supposed be protected by a gun free zone while all guns, knives, and drugs are banned on school grounds. Yet we still have school shootings, the occasional stabbing, and stoners and junkies still hide in the bathrooms where they can get high.
Bans don't work, and if they do then the country reporting them is either lying or they have a large and effective police force. The North Hollywood shoot out where two robbers took out 400 cops in LA with just assault rifles was conducted under the old assault rifle ban.
The solution is neither arm everyone nor ban everything. I believe that look more into the cause of why these things happen. We need to think and ask ourselves why do people break down and decide to kill everyone? Is it bullying, drugs, metal illness, any of the above, ect? Fix the person, not take away the tool.
