The raw bullstuff factor this game sometimes likes to throw at you can really get on my nerves sometimes. I have enough experience with the game (All ships unlocked, beaten it with each loadout on normal difficulty) that I can generally be prepared for situations where the bullstuff factor flies in my face. Although sometimes the game pulls an extremely richardish scenario where you're only destined to die.

If you can find a hacking module in a store, get one as quickly as possible, this item is probably the most useful counter to bullstuff in the entire game. It can deactivate drone raids, stop boarding parties, deactivate weapons, stop your enemy from roosterblocking your attacks; or just completely dump on their crew by destroying the doors. Honestly this device is probably your best bet for survival.

Complete bull stuff happened yesterday.

Fighting Rebel Disruptor in the 6th sector. Full health and shields. Flak cannon, fire beam, hacking system, defense drones, etc. Thing fires an ion at me and takes down shields. I fire missile, it misses. Enemy launches drones at me and one destroys my weapons. Rebel fires a shot at my shields, taking them down. Before i could fire the flak, he fire beams me, completely destroying doors and sensors. Pilot is helpless in the bridge as the fire approaches him. I evacuate everyone into med bay, 2 cant fit in and die. By the time the rebels surrender, the entire ship is on fire. The fire destroys O2, suffocating everyone in the ship, but not putting out the fire. This was on EASY MODE

I'd start by fixing the oxygen, then keep the doors between those two rooms closed, maybe even relocate one of the zoltan to door controls to make it even harder for the drone to go between them. Power up the missile, ignore the drone, finish off the ship.

What is happening here?  I was charging the leto and heavy laser, leto was almost charged when my weapons got ionized for 1 point.  At this point the leto deactivates and cannot be reactivated.  I have 4 weapon power, one is damaged, one is ionized.  I don't understand why the leto deactivated. 


3 missiles in a row made it past my defense drone when I absolutely needed that defense drone to live.  First one hit the zoltan shield - ok.  Second one was a weird angle with bad timing.  The final one went right next to the damn drone at a perfectly easy to shoot angle and hit drone control for massive damage.

I had the same thing happen to me. I sat on Google for about half an hour just trying to find out what the hell happened and I couldn't find anything.
I think the game just hates everyone.

have you encountered a flak cannon?  those things literally rape shields and they do decent damage, they have a little bit less than decent accuracy but holy stuff if the flak hits it takes down a ship really fast.

I don't understand why the leto deactivated.

When your weapons computer loses power, the weapons closest to the right side of your screen will shut off first. Also, how is your heavy laser on when you have no power to weapons?

Yes.  The first time I encountered one was in an asteroid field... *thousand yard stare*

Pretty sure you can't refill a room while it is exposed to vacuum, at least not with the base level O2 system.  Engine room is breached and the door between the engine room and weapons room was forced open by the drone.  Anyway like 2 seconds after I took that pic both guys died because they were stunned in the oxygen free room.
