So you are making the point based on black people being impaired lol...
That's even more tribal
Also you can't take the ramp away from someone in a wheelchair. And they simply just learn to walk to deal with it.
This is actually the case for a minority race to improve though.
minorities are treated differently by employers and colleges. if someone broke your legs, do you have to take the stairs? no
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affirmative_action
basically it made it so states are allowed to make everyone equal instead of giving preference to people based on their minority status alone (or at least thats my understanding)
but that's the overall definition, go to the page specifically for affirmative action in the US

So night. When or how would it be the time to end it?
If it's simply based on minority alone. What if black or whatever race wasn't a minority anymore?
Would the benefits start going to a different race instead?
Are we going to spend the next 100 years pretending that common problems within a race are caused simply because there are less people then other race living in X location?

People who want this to continue just want all people to be different and seperate.

minorities are treated differently by employers and colleges.
yeah they are!! thats why it was repealed, so they cant be...
if someone broke your legs, do you have to take the stairs?
well gee i guess my stuffty grades arent my fault then, either
you can fix your stuffty attitude about school/grades/whatever but you cant fix a broken leg with a different state of mind
get real lol

fighting racism with more racism is idiotic

Affirmative action is absolutely handicapped and I feel very strongly that it should never be implemented, ever. It's literally just as bad as racial discrimination, just towards the majority. We had a serious oversensitivity to race and gender in the US to the point that white people are at a disadvantage because nobody "pities" them and it's not right. You want equality? Give us loving equality. I feel this way about some (but not all) feminists that I prefer to call "antimasculinists."

your stuffty grades aren't a result of discrimination??

if you really want specifics

Quote from: Wikipedia
MCRI was legislation aimed at stopping discrimination based on race, color, love, or religion in admission to colleges, jobs, and other publicly funded institutions – effectively prohibiting affirmative action by public institutions based on those factors.

your stuffty grades aren't a result of discrimination??
Neither are black people's. I've seen black people with good grades - if a black person fails, it's because they didn't study or do their work.

nobody's talkin about grades except frankie. nobody's saying that black people fail classes due to discrimination

Glad this was done.  Affirmative action only gave special privileges to those who represented themselves as minorities, or underrepresented.  People should be admitted to schools by their achievement and performance alone.

when people don't discriminate against them anymore...your stuffty grades aren't a result of discrimination??
its...not? affirmative action is actually the other way around, discrimination towards the majorty
your stuffty grades aren't a result of discrimination??
how the hell do the two connect at all?
grades are based on effort, not on race

affirmative action gives minorities the upper hand, how is that not discrimination?

when people don't discriminate against them

But affirmative action IS discrimination.
So you just want a specific targeted discrimination .

Yet you spew your buzzwords here in favor of equality. The exact opposite of affirmative action.

Even black people know how condescending it is.

People should be admitted to schools by their achievement and performance alone.
that's what affirmative action is about. jesus christ do you people read anything? it requires institutions to consider minority applicants as much as they'd consider a white one
how the hell do the two connect at all?
grades are based on effort, not on race
um, you brought up grades...

This is the right thing to do. You can't balance a scale by swapping the weights.

Thanks Bisjac, saved me the thirty seconds to reply to stupid brown townogies.
