Look at this boltgun Tingalz made. It is chunky, simplistic, toy-like, and exaggerated, much like the playermodel holding it.

Look at this rifle Bushido made. It is chunky, simplistic, toy-like, and exaggerated, much like the playermodel holding it.

Look at this grenade launcher Frogfreak made. It is chunky, simplistic, toy-like, and exaggerated, much like the playermodel holding it.

Now look at all this stuff

They look fine as they are there, but the moment a blockhead picks it up it's going to have a huge stylistic clash.

you know that one simple black and grey sniper rifle? and that one simple black and grey shotgun? those fit in with default stuff
those three weapons don't. they don't even fit in with the blockhead, lol

Actually, Night Fox has a fair point about my recent stuff.

My earlier vehicles were direct rip-offs of Kaje's style, then I decided to go overboard. I'm still trying to find a way back, but I also need something to set apart my stuff from the others.

Also, the Scorpius was made by Tophius, and it's a really neat car.

an individual person's opinion doesn't matter

ok like 6 guys have been in and out of this topic with the same opinion. it's clearly not one person

if everyone except you likes something, it's not bad, you just don't like itwhat are you talking about? if any words I've said seem complex to you, that has nothing to do with me

try this one

(ignore the blue stuff, it was the only picture I could find of it since RTB is gone)
and you still haven't explained why the style actually matters

first: that's tophius' car.

second, i've said why the style matters. it unifies the art style so everything feels sleek and put-together instead of devolving into a hard-to-read clusterforget

third, if you're asking 'why does the aesthetic matter', then the answer is 'because blockland has a very specific look already and if we were to suddenly make a 90 degree turn in another direction to look like something else we'd first be alienating the people who like the way blockland looks now (and note, that's a lot of people) and we'd be expending a bunch of effort and sacrificing a large portion of our time looking like stuff to jump to a new aesthetic for no reason.' it's essentially a function of laziness and efficiency and laziness. and laziness.

if anything kaje's sniper rifle fits the least, it's actually aged pretty poorly

it's all round and sheer-two-tone and gross. you can't even see the geometry at some angles because it's just sheer black

it's not like you're wrong it's just why was this necessary to announce

Because it's ridiculous. If you don't like his style then tell him that on the threads he posts his stuff in, not in a place where people are supposed to discuss whether he's an starfish or not. You're completely derailing the topic into something that should be taking place elsewhere.

It's also less effective here. Bashing his stuff in a drama thread is like giving him a really bad haircut: Sure he isn't gonna like it and he's gonna look like a fool, but it doesn't debilitate or affect him in any style or attitude-changing way.

yeah, whoops. I even specifically remember looking at the name tophius in the title several times but for some reason it never occured to me that it meant you didn't make it

but why does that matter? you don't have to use those add-ons. the people who like them can use them, it doesn't bother you

am i the only one that does not care if the weapon looks blocklandish or not

i just care if it works well or not
You may be one of very few who care exclusively about function, but I've started caring about it a lot more... I never put anywhere near enough work into the coding of my stuff and that's pretty much the entire reason why I'm remaking all of it, almost none of it is even close to being presentable by the current standards set by Blockland modders...

You're completely derailing the topic into something that should be taking place elsewhere.
You're right, the topic about Takato14 is being derailed into being about Takato14 instead of Takato14. Got it.

why does everyone think it's a good idea to make puffy, swollen guns

why does everyone think it's a good idea to make puffy, swollen guns
thx. they're fat, chubby, ugly little things. they don't match the player or the default weapons at all

You're right, the topic about Takato14 being unnecessarily rude or not is being derailed into being about Takato14's art style instead of Takato14 being unnecessarily rude or not. Got it.

but why does that matter? you don't have to use those add-ons. the people who like them can use them, it doesn't bother you

if anyone hosts a server that i want to join and simultaneously is running the guns, regardless of whether or not i like the guns if i enjoy the rest of the server i'm going to have to deal with the stuff guns and, potentially, a host who doesn't know better

also seriously someone explain to me the circumstances behind that one time badspot started banning dudes for saying 'don't play on that server'. that line's been dropped like 4 times and i wanna know if that counts for anything

why does everyone think it's a good idea to make puffy, swollen guns

its actually very interesting, it's part of my style but it seems to have caught on

its implicative of blockland being goofy and silly. it's like, the gun has no reason to be fat, so the fact that it is fat implies that it's deliberately not practical and lays down the groundwork for more silly bullstuff

nobody ever really said he we were being specific about what we were talking about

like the topic name just says takato, so we'll just all talk about takato in general

Okay, if you want to continue being ineffectual I won't stop you.

why would you put hyperrealistic guns into a cartoony-ass lego game

that's like tf2 having 1:1 detail cod promos
