Author Topic: The <WORST> 3D models you've ever made?  (Read 15582 times)

I could be wrong but Takato I think you're using the term tessellation improperly.

Bitches can't touch me

About half of the models in this thread are actually pretty sweet.

About half of the models in this thread are actually pretty sweet.

Eh, not really. There's like, one or two of them that I'd say could easily pass off as something. But lets be honest, this thread is full of stuff.
Which is fine because that's what the thread is for
and if you posted your piece here don't get mad at me
you posted it because you think it's stuff
you bitch

Bitches can't touch me

LOL

also no, im using it right, its kind of hard to see what I'm talking about in the render

id show you a wireframe of that model if I still had it, its absolutely loving terrible and the geometry makes no sense whatsoever

what the forget are you talking about
that looks amazing
what

its literally a bunch of thrown-together nonsense, not a single piece of that model fits with any other piece, its just a huge ugly box with random tumors jutting off of it

what

you're the BL forums equivalent of a girl on facebook that spends hours getting the perfect selfie and then posts it with the caption "omg im so ugly ;-; i wish i was pretty"

That's just your opinion. When the majority of people say it's not a bad model, through... It's probably not a bad model! Take it or leave it, but it's not really a bad model. It actually looks like something - something with form and definition. It may not be your best model, sure - but if that's what makes a model bad in your eyes, then I have one word for you:

WAT.

also no, im using it right, its kind of hard to see what I'm talking about in the rende

So what do you mean when you say tessellation

you're the BL forums equivalent of a girl on facebook that spends hours getting the perfect selfie and then posts it with the caption "omg im so ugly ;-; i wish i was pretty"

you're the BL forums equivalent of a girl on facebook who takes a good picture, runs it through thirty filters, and then gets defensive when people say the original picture looks better

the only applicable issue is that thing's too big, and that's easy enough to fix

you're the BL forums equivalent of a girl on facebook that spends hours getting the perfect selfie and then posts it with the caption "omg im so ugly ;-; i wish i was pretty"
actually I gave up on that model within the first hour because of how gross it looked

I wish my old HDD didn't stuff itself so I could show you what I'm talking about, I mean the beveling is so horrible that the barrels clip through the body, and I tried to hide it with that angled thing on the front (which doesnt line up with the body either). then I literally copied the handle off of one of the Uber-weapons and stuck it on there

it might be salvageable but I'd have to scrap almost everything, like everything except the barrel assembly would have to go

So what do you mean when you say tessellation
Like the triangles are uneven in number and orientation, if you were to try animating that model you'd be in for a nasty surprise

EDIT: maybe I meant topology? idk

yes I meant topology, though there actually are completely loving flat surfaces on that model in random spots, so technically tessellation is right too

Well when people talk about tesselation in 3D it seems they're usually referring to actively smoothing something ( I can only really think of real time applications but that just me) its like when they smooth out the corners of stuff in Max Payne 3. I dunno though, I'm pretty dumb about a lot of things.

stuff OP, I want that gauss rifle in-game now.

tesselation has to do with the triangulation needed to make a single coplanar face

like on an octagon, these are all different tesselations that accomplish the same thing

it is in game, has been for years

might remake it later

This model was made way back in high school. Just to note, the program used was neither Blender nor Milkshape, it was the school's 3D modeling program. I fiddled around with the program when I was bored in study hall.
