There is no way that we could be the only sentient life in the entire universe. THere is bound to be aliens somewhere.

The observable universe is 930,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 m in diameter, and there's 13.7 billion years for such life to have come about. Keep in mind that:
A) That's just the OBSERVABLE universe. The Universe proper could be much, much larger.
B) That's excluding any form of sufficiently advanced aliens that can time travel from the future to the past.

If you think we're so special so as to be the only ones out there out of that HUGE amount of space-time, you're egotistical and insane.

If you include micro-organisms, there's probably some in our Solar System (if I remember correctly, I think at some point we found what looked like bacteria fossils on Mars, but we weren't certain), let alone the galaxy or Universe.

But still, I can have the opinion that all space past the Solar System doesn't exist and is just a really big, high resolution screen. It's an opinion, but it's clearly not a logical one.
