Author Topic: dad kicks 6 year old son down a skate ramp for no loving reason  (Read 1821 times)

Laughed my ass off. Get over it, the child isn't going to die or even get any serious injuries. A couple of scrapes at most. I've been pushed off 7 foot ramps and landed head first (w/ helmet) and loving laughed about it for days.
Okay, have fun breaking your tailbone when you get kicked off a 14 foot ramp.

It really has nothing to do with whether or not the kid is ok. The real problem here is that the father would do something like that in the first place.

Hey this is in my local news station, in Jacksonville! Woohoo! Jacksonville! Yay!

I love seeing my town get mentioned, even if it's not in good light!

We have a lot to learn from the dad.

no wonder why you're borderline handicapped

Serious injuries could definitely happen

what is your point?
If you fall down a ramp like that, the worst that's going to happen is that you'll scrape yourself, but if you notice, the kid is completely padded up. You can't break bones if you aren't suddenly getting stopped by a wall/flat surface. It's physics, or something.

im no physics major seeing I've only taken a joke of a high school physics course but the kid was kicked pretty far out down what looks to be about a 12 foot half pipe

He probably hit pretty close to the bottom (aka the flat part) even if he didnt hit the exact bottom he fell pretty far

Dislocation and broken bones are an easy possibility

Eh, I'm not sure. But point being, I don't think this is an abusive parent. It was a questionable decision, definitely, but I wouldn't equate it to him trying to intentionally hurt his kid.

not saying he is abusive either (but apparently the mother and 13 yo have both said hes done stuff like this before)

All I'm saying is that, because of the dads stupidity the child COULD have had some bad injuries

Would have been way less questionable if it was on a 3ft half pipe and he didnt spartan kick him

The dad also looked like he could care less about his kid getting hurt

Your brown townogy sucked because it centered on the idea that pushing a kid down a 5 foot skate ramp can kill them. I give it 3/10.
I'm pretty sure that the father was just trying to get his cautious kid to 'man up' and  skate down the ramp. It's just a slightly more reckless version of pushing a kid off a diving board into a pool. No one's going to die.

Think, 'pushing a kid down skate ramp' versus 'breaking a kid's knees with a tire iron'.

One is questionable parenting, one is abuse. Only the latter should be investigated by the police.
Im not trying to make a statement about the police's involvment, I'm saying the outcome of an event
shouldn't change the punishment

He could of been Hurt and that's what should matter

it's mostly about the father's choice. pushing your 6 year old kid down a halfpipe because "he needs to leeearn" is a really really really really reeeeeaaaaaaalllyyyy forgeted up thing to do.
