Author Topic: Is Dark Souls worth it?  (Read 1673 times)

I've heard good things about it, and I wanna know if it's worth buying.

yesiree it is one of the few games that remind me of those days playing old games with the neighbors
although it appears difficult to the naked eye it is really fair
dark souls 2 is the easiest but i think its better to start off on demon souls (don't geddit for pc)

demon souls (don't geddit for pc)
Its only on the PS3? (I don't have one anyways)

both dark souls 1 & 2 were great and I'd definitely recommend them.
the game's got a lot of replayability too so you might find yourself starting a new character here and there.

also the soundtrack is beautiful

Its only on the PS3? (I don't have one anyways)
in particular demon souls isn't ported well to the pc that's what i meantarent

Demons Souls is PS3 exclusive, Dark Souls 1 & 2 are on the PC

oops did i confuse demon and dark for their bad ports
hhh i'm confusion
oh wait was i thinking that the fact that demon souls not being ported was a bad port

DS2 is.

Imagine the rivers in Oregon Trail. Now imagine them every few feet. That's Dark Souls.

idk why anybody would risk keyboard

OP I highly recommend 2 for PC if you have a gamepad or controller you can sync. 1 has icky GFWL

if you dont mind the legions of horror pounding your bloody face in every time you turn a corner or pass through a mist, then yeah its worth it

the game itself has good old school progression and weapon mechanics, it actually makes the entire combat scenario incredibly lethal due to how bad an enemy may ruin your day if youre not paying attention

that applys later on as well, like giant rats
giant rats are encountered incredibly early in the game, they die in a couple of hits and all, but when they swarm up on you then theyre horrifying

like their attacks are pretty weak, but they poison-which lasts forever and will probably kill you 10x over before you even manage to reach the bonfire that you lighted earlier

but that doesnt make the game any less fun, it just reinforces your need to strategize before every encounter, all the way down to practicing your movement controls, knowing your weapon range, determining the risk of engaging an enemy, and keeping an eye on your stamina

so really its just a thrilling challenge to overcome

i hated having to redo that under bridge area because i messed up letting a rat use poison
