if you dont mind the legions of horror pounding your bloody face in every time you turn a corner or pass through a mist, then yeah its worth it
the game itself has good old school progression and weapon mechanics, it actually makes the entire combat scenario incredibly lethal due to how bad an enemy may ruin your day if youre not paying attention
that applys later on as well, like giant rats
giant rats are encountered incredibly early in the game, they die in a couple of hits and all, but when they swarm up on you then theyre horrifying
like their attacks are pretty weak, but they poison-which lasts forever and will probably kill you 10x over before you even manage to reach the bonfire that you lighted earlier
but that doesnt make the game any less fun, it just reinforces your need to strategize before every encounter, all the way down to practicing your movement controls, knowing your weapon range, determining the risk of engaging an enemy, and keeping an eye on your stamina
so really its just a thrilling challenge to overcome
