Most of the war for the Japanese was fought defending (I don't really consider them completely rolling over China and the islands south of Japan as part of their war because there was little resistance). After the Battle of Midway (1942) the Japanese were defending the islands they previously captured. This is why I say "defending the pacific."

It doesn't really matter what you classify them rolling over China and the islands south of Japan as, it was still a part of the war.  And you say defending like they were trying to protect the pacific from the "brutal American imperialist pig war machine" that we all know and love as the USA.  The Japanese conquest of the Pacific was indeed a part of the war and should not be looked at as otherwise.  Don't be so naive.

Axis Best faction. Remove Allies, Remove Commiterm.

Of course it was part of the war. I never said it wasn't. I'm just saying that it's not really a fight if one side doesn't have a fighting chance. Japan just steamrolled its enemies like Germany did with their blitzkrieg tactic.

And how do you get all that meaning out of the single word of "defending?" That's not at all what I meant, lol. At the time that the U.S. began its counterattack, Japan was defending what it had taken. Defending doesn't automatically mean that the side defending is part of the "good side."

the americans didnt kick their asses then so it wasnt part of the war

well you're loving wrong, lol

Nationalist China never got overrun, the Republic of China Army/National Revolutionary Army fought the Japanese to the end of 1945. Manchuria on the other hand was taken over by the Chines and had a puppet leader from one of the few remaining Chinese Dynasties take over.

What the forget? Go read up on the german invasion of France. It sure as stuff wasn't an easy fight for them. The baguettes put up a hell of a fight before being forced to surrender.
