Author Topic: $$$ Ravencroft's Basketball Betting! $$$  (Read 14285 times)

then why did you make a topic? did you honestly think you, one of the blhack.dll distributors, would not get any flack from a gambling ring connected to ravencroft, who a lot of people hate? aren't you like 19 years old?
he never distributed it

plus, I don't think he expected to be bashed with accusations of past activity based on a little gambling topic

i realize i'm perpetuating information that may be false, understood, so lemme just reiterate:

There's no one trustworthy enough in this community to handle a gambling system. There are so many contracts and technicalities in actual gambling websites and bookies to ensure money is handled safely and games are not rigged. You can't recreate that in this community on this game.

i realize i'm perpetuating information that may be false, understood, so lemme just reiterate:

well it's not like he is managing it for the entire community, it's about Ravencroft's games

it's an optional thing, as cca stated already

sure, it probably is a little shady, but then don't bet?

saying "then don't bet" doesn't make it legal though

saying "then don't bet" doesn't make it legal though
well he can still do it on other transaction services, maybe bitcoin or something? it's not totally illegal

what the forget are you saying

if someone's getting mugged in your alley, and your friend says "we oughta go stop those guys who are mugging people down that alley", your correct response is not,"it's okay, because if you never go down that alley you won't get mugged", it should be,"it is illegal to mug people, let's call the police".

cca has promoted unregulated gambling. it's not illegal, but trust can not justify that. our job here isn't to persecute him, but to let everyone know you oughta stay away from this.

oh my god
what the hell is going on here

why are people getting their jimmies rustled over this

I mean seriously. It's not like this is is something you have to rely on trust for. What could you lose, 25 cents? That was the maximum amount of money for betting per user. I'm pretty sure nobody would ever mind getting 25 cents rid of their wallet.

And despite that the people who are capable of betting on this aren't taking it to the extent where they actually want to gain money. This is obviously a thing just for fun, and I know it is. This is just a thing so people can gossip on the teams and actually talk about Ravencroft's server. It's just for entertainment. If you're going to complain about how Cca isn't trustable at managing this project, I never saw anybody complaining about Kalphiter, a massive problem user that created a hosting service that also involved money and that people took seriously.

but we did complain about kalphiter, he oversteppd his boundaries, and then left and now makes image macros of badspot as Riddler.

i just don't see why, if this was a little thing between friends, did a topic had to be made promoting it

Well I'm sorry some of you feel this way. We just thought it would be a fun thing to do with my server and have been planning this out for a while. We had zero intent to scam or steal anyone's money. Once again, I'm sorry. We should have looked into the rules for this kind of thing instead of going ahead and doing it.

if someone's getting mugged in your alley, and your friend says "we oughta go stop those guys who are mugging people down that alley", your correct response is not,"it's okay, because if you never go down that alley you won't get mugged", it should be,"it is illegal to mug people, let's call the police".
that's a terrible brown townogy because cca isn't robbing people and there is no proof of that

there are just accusations, and based off past activity, people assume he will eventually rob you or something

again, you don't have to bet and a robbery would mean forced compliance.

cca has promoted unregulated gambling. it's not illegal, but trust can not justify that. our job here isn't to persecute him, but to let everyone know you oughta stay away from this.
lol, well i'm sure based off Badspot's post, he made that clear already.
if people don't want to bet, they don't have to, and I think it's silly that you assume he will take your $0.25 because of some drama's

none of those drama's were about him stealing money, and about the illegal stuff,
well he can still do it on other transaction services, maybe bitcoin or something? it's not totally illegal

okay look, maybe you guys did have honest intentions. sure. CCA and Raven could honestly want to spice up their games a bit, that's feasible.

but it doesn't matter because it's still unregulated gambling, and it was posted on a website where many people may see it, regarding a server that is very well frequented.

once again
It wouldn't be ethical for Badspot to let you go ahead and advertise this.

There's no one trustworthy enough in this community to handle a gambling system. There are so many contracts and technicalities in actual gambling websites and bookies to ensure money is handled safely and games are not rigged. You can't recreate that in this community on this game.

i just don't see why, if this was a little thing between friends, did a topic had to be made promoting it
that is out of the question

but it's obviously because if it's only something between Ravencroft, Waldo, and Cca then the betting thing isn't going to work. There's not a problem at all for this activity to be promoted, because it's not like it's a forced activity. It's only something that people that WANT to do it WILL do it

Overall we should have thought about the unregulated gambling aspect of it. We were so focused on the system and how it would work, that we completely overlooked the fact that this very well could be illegal and unethical. camel, sir dooble and Badspot are 100% correct here no matter how harmless it is.

t was posted on a website where many people may see it, regarding a server that is very well frequented.
again, you don't have to bet
