he should expect you follow the rules without having to monitor you
But are you? No.

Badspot shouldn't need to refresh your posts constantly (similar to what the teacher is doing)
Yes, but Badspot has a moderator helping out, and also the report system.
Are you going to report to the teacher the person beside you is going on facebook?
No, because you are also breaking the rules and going to twitter.
But also managing a forum is different then managing a class room full of kids.
While you are managing 200+ people on at the time, you have probably 1%-10% helping out reporting rule breaking posts.
And you can see everyone's post from one spot, while as the teacher can't see everyone's screen at one spot without this software.

The students, in most cases, should manage themselves
It's not up to the teacher to force a kid to pass
Yes, but they are getting paid to help you pass, you need to realize they only use this software to help you.

Usually when I do something shady I just log into a random student's account so they don't know it's me. Our school district's security is so flawed I got the usernames, passwords, names, addresses, birthdays, and phone numbers of every kid in our school district.
What a richard, get someone else in trouble for devious activities.

It is up to the staff to try to prevent you from breaking the policies for use of school equipment
Except the policies are dumb and watching what kids do isn't really a way to do it? A better idea would be making the kids want to do school work the entire duration

They shouldn't help you when you aren't helping yourself
And do the teachers really not trust the kids at all to the point that they need to do this? Sounds like some issues on both sides

the policies are dumb
argumentative master

watching what kids do isn't really a way to do it?
Exactly how else do you make sure they aren't doing what they aren't allowed to do?

A better idea would be making the kids want to do school work the entire duration
good luck figuring that one out

Yes they should, what they get paid is based on how well the kids do.
In college you will have plenty of time missing your classes, because it doesn't matter since you already paid them.

It seems to work in a good bit of cases, and to me I would be completely fine doing what I am supposed to be doing at school.

And do the teachers really not trust the kids at all to the point that they need to do this? Sounds like some issues on both sides
Well not all teachers don't trust them, but what does a little extra security hurt?

The only real reason you have an issue with it is because you yourself are on what ever you want when you should be studying.

It matters much more because you're paying for them. I've missed SO MANY FEWER classes in college compared to high school.

I mean to the teachers, of course it should matter to you, what I am trying to say is that Frankie can be on his cell-phone all during the class if he wants to.

That's not true either. They want to help you learn. If that wasn't true, they wouldn't be professors.
If you disrupt their class, or clearly pay no attention, they'll ask you to leave. (You're supposedly an adult by that time.)

(this is my experience with my own college, not necessarily colleges and universities in general)

then now they disabled right-clicking and pretty much the whole start menu.

I'll second this claim.

I have no idea what Frankie is arguing anymore. It makes literally no sense. All it sounds like is entitled whiny bullstuff.

What do you even mean by a kid should be responsible for themselves? Of course a kid should be responsible for themselves and follow the rules, but they won't. That's why they have the monitoring software, what are you even arguing? It really seems like you just wanna be able to do whatever you want and have nobody tell you no.

sounds a bit draconian but as long as it ain't leaving school grounds and prying into your private life, i really have no lawBeef with it. yo and what the forget 80% of schoolwork? are you taking nothing but worthless computer nerd classes or something?

Our school doesnt have anything like this.
So whenever we have to do something on a computer, half of the students are on facebook.
