Pokemon Zeta and Pokemon Omicron are fanmade Pokemon games made in RPG Maker XP. It is NOT a rom-hack and is made completely from the ground-up. It is free and available for Windows, Mac, and (sort-of) Linux.

ChangelogFAQhttp://www.reddit.com/r/pokemonzetaomicron/comments/1cl9vv/frequently_asked_questions/LINUXTo play on Linux:
In this example, I am using Zeta. The process is identical for Omicron, just change the directories.
Step 1:
Download the Mac version of the game and extract it wherever you want.
Step 2:
After extracting, cd to the folder that contains Game.exe.
'/Pokemon Zeta Mac 1.3.11.app/drive_c/Program Files/Pokemon Zeta (edit)/Game.exe' is what it is now.
Step 3. Open Game.exe with Wine with the command wine Game.exe.
That is the bare minimum to start playing!
To make an application in Ubuntu, make a file called zeta.sh. Open the file in a text editor and copy/paste the cd command, and then skip a few lines and type "wine Game.exe".
Save and close the file. Mark it as executable by right-clicking it and selecting properties, then permissions, and check the box that says "Allow executing file as program".
Run it by double clicking it to make sure it works. If not, make sure those commands work when typed into a terminal. Make sure the directory you type into your cd command is in apostrophes.
If you do not have it already, get Alacarte Menu Editor either in the software store, or with "sudo apt-get install Alacarte"
Open Alacarte (sometimes just called menu editor).
Click on the "Games" menu on the left side of the screen. Click "New Item" on the left side of the screen.
Make sure Type is Application. As name, put whatever you want. I would suggest "Pokemon Zeta". For command, hit "Browse..." and select the Zeta.sh that you made and click "Open". If given the box for Comment, just type in a description such as "Play Pokemon Omicron". For the icon, use whatever you would like. Since I could not find the proper icon for it, I just use this .
Click OK. and then close Alacarte. Your game should now show up in your applications list!
