1 billion dollars jesus christ i could buy a sandwich with that

you are comparing genocide to internet companies
no idiot, he was comparing Riddler's invasion of europe during the late 30's to google's acquiring of twitch.

what?
its not like google has a monopoly on anything it provides lol
people use youtube for a reason
no one is forced to use it
google pretty much is a giant business trust
along with wal-mart and mcdonalds

i hate big business

so then later google will hit another company but there's a bridge of water between the two, they'll attack it but it'll stay then later on it will come back strong and knockdown google?

and the extermination of small rival companies oh man

Why is everyone screaming and creating drama? Is anything actually going to change after Google buys Twitch?

It's a great thing. Hopefully, Twitch will stop being stuff.

Why are they working on this when there STILL isn't a google drive client for Linux. I mean seriously it's been years since they said they would do it.

Just because you don't use drive doesn't mean it's rarely used.

And they said they would do it a very long time ago.

google drive is not rarely used, my whole county is going to give all the high school students their own google accounts for drive and gmail.

im talking about the desktop application
how many people even realize you can use google drive for more than just google docs/spreadsheets/whatever (probably not a lot)

... everybody?

If one entity controls an entire society then it will either be the best society ever, or the worst, it goes both ways. The same is true for Trusts, some trusts can be anti-consumer, and some can be unbelievably good for consumers. McDonalds supplies some of the easiest/cheapest access food to individuals around the planet, health concerns aside. A lack of competition can make it easier for consumers to locate what they want because they know where to look. It goes both ways obviously, but its stupid to claim it goes either one or the other dominantly, its pretty evenly split. And Google does not strike me as a company that will take the negative side of things, assuming it obtains an internet monopoly (Lol).

Also Linux is quite literally the least used stand-alone operating system for the types of services that Google would logically supply. Anyone who has a Linux OS generally also has a windows OS as well, I know for a fact Nexus runs both simultaneously on his Laptop. Consider dual-booting instead of expecting companies to accommodate the least common denominator.

... everybody?
i wouldnt say that
i honestly didnt know until my friend showed me nearly 6 months after i started using it

anyways they probably arent going to devote 5-6 people to develop something for linux when they could be used for something else
linux isnt widely used in the scope of consumer PC's and thats really google's target (consumer market is)

whats next mac donalds buys Nintendo?
facebook buy's minecraft?
this is extremely suspicious on whats been happening with facebook buying the oclous and now Youtube buying twitch. whats going on here?
