If one entity controls an entire society then it will either be the best society ever, or the worst, it goes both ways. The same is true for Trusts, some trusts can be anti-consumer, and some can be unbelievably good for consumers. McDonalds supplies some of the easiest/cheapest access food to individuals around the planet, health concerns aside. A lack of competition can make it easier for consumers to locate what they want because they know where to look. It goes both ways obviously, but its stupid to claim it goes either one or the other dominantly, its pretty evenly split. And Google does not strike me as a company that will take the negative side of things, assuming it obtains an internet monopoly (Lol).
Also Linux is quite literally the least used stand-alone operating system for the types of services that Google would logically supply. Anyone who has a Linux OS generally also has a windows OS as well, I know for a fact Nexus runs both simultaneously on his Laptop. Consider dual-booting instead of expecting companies to accommodate the least common denominator.
