I think you should rather have a GrandPrix system, where you race in 4 courses like this:

Blockhead 99999 completes Badspot Motorway from Example Cup, then he goes onto the next course of Example Cup, which is Blupo Valley or something. And so on until you complete the last course. Then you are shown in a Winner's room for some secs to see your glory or something.

Are custom tracks required to be all default?

Well sure, it uses the default colorset and you don't really need any custom bricks other than the lap system bricksthat will be made later and the zone bricks

I used custom bricks for my spotlights..
I suppose I could rework it.

I've been thinking of removing those walls that surround the badspot motorway and turn it into an island, which is surrounded by a land far away with buildings and stuff (take the trackmania bay environment as an example)

It's not supposed to get to the land with buildings, that is just a background decoration
