Author Topic: Apple's master plan may have been revealed.  (Read 10083 times)

I paid $150 for my phone and it's 10 times better than my old iPhone which was $500.

Now you can get the iPhone 4S for $100. iPhone's have dropped dramatically since they first came out in 2007.

think about apples computers for a second
the highest end model is like 2000 loving dollars for a computer that could be built for like 500
if they charge insane amounts of money for stuff for their computers why wouldn't they (they already are) sell ridiculously expensive mobile stuff thats actually not expensive at all too?

Also take note of how much efficient software you get, and how strong the processors you get with the product. It's the same thing that gamers do: they buy useless machines for over $1000 to play video games in high resolution without any lag.

it makes me sad that people can actually think this way

I can see not liking the Pc's. I don't like OSX. But the phones are pretty good. They do everything I need them to.

Also I understand the market. You could build a computer like theirs for half (500 is really REALLY pushing it bud). But is little ol' granny going to buy PC parts and build a computer? Is the average, non-technically inclined consumer going to build a computer? You get a decently prebuilt, all-in-one computer that a layman could use and it's going to last. A cheap prebuilt Windows PC is preloaded with stuff bloatware and you don't know how long it will last. Most everyone on this forum isn't a layman.

I'm sorry guys, but I only see people hating on Apple because they can't afford it. I've been a long Apple used and I've never run into problems, people don't get it: you pay for quality. When you pay $200 for a tablet, what do you think you'll get? While $500 can get something much higher-end and longer lasting. I don't see anything wrong with this.

I don't really know about anyone else, but I'm still staying clear of apple products regardless of how much money I have. I also prefer to pay for raw power than physical appearance.

Guys, it's not really a matter of quality or durability or whatever; it's much simpler than that.

It's because Apple knows marketing. To an extreme. Almost better than any other company in existence. Additionally, because they're the first ones who often take the major leaps forward (such as this) or are at least the first to be recognized for it, they build a growing interest. I'm not going to have an opinion on this until something happens, and even then it might be a while. I don't like to pre-judge, and since it seems like much isn't set in stone at the moment, nobody fully knows how this will play out. And please, don't pretend like you do, 'cause you don't.

Atleast it will sound better.
holy forget no it wont

please at least attempt to do research before you post something like this

you still need to convert the digital signal to brown townog and amplify it for the transducers in the headphones

chances are it'll sound worse since the DAC and amp circuitry is now being crammed into an even smaller space than usual and people are going to take shortcuts to make it fit

not to mention the detrimental affects on the acoustics of the housing itself

this is not a leap forward

this is not a leap forward
not only is it not a leap forward but its also a colossal step backwards

this is not a leap forward
You don't know this. It is a technological leap forward; whether or not it will be a practical leap forward has yet to be shown. As much power as Apple holds in the technology industry, there's a chance it could be fairly well accepted once it's released, even if it's only due to people not wanting to give up their precious iPhones.

I don't care what the dailymail told you, it is not a technological leap forward. Read takato's post, he said it.

oh my god, no dude, it's not

brown townog can never not be a thing for audio, the only difference is that now we're cramming the circuitry needed to convert digital to brown townog, the equipment needed to amplify the resulting signal, AND the equipment needed to turn said signal into sound in one small enclosure

that is going to be ABSURDLY detrimental to good sound quality, it will take decades before we can even match what we can achieve now with outboard amplifiers and DACs, and it will almost certainly never surpass that

a brand new 4S still costs around $300+
