That doesn't make any sense. Your index fingers should already be on L and R. I need to learn to shield too, but it's not the button that's my problem, just the fact that I never remember to use it and when I do I use it wrong.

Once you learn how to shield at the right time, start dodging. Dodging serves as a super quick way to not get hit by something, and leaving your enemy open to be hit.

I never have my index fingers on L and R it's insanely uncomfortable for me. Same with the GC controller. I can shield and dodge still since I've gotten used to it but I definitely wont keep my fingers on them.

For me it'd have to be more how the triggers are for the Xbox 360/one controller or PS3/4 controllers are set up, it has to be lower than what I'm holding.

Do people not realize you can grab with R+A? This is much better than R+L because L is simulated as R+A internally, so if you do it incorrectly you could end up shielding again instead of grabbing. R+A is just the faster and more comfortable shieldgrab option.
woops i thought you meant simultaneously. yeah 3DS controls feel weird. can't w8 for gamecube controllers

Takes too long to be viable I think. It'd be easy to interrupt Megaman's charging, but thunder is really hard to interrupt
