Author Topic: Ubisoft removes female asassins in next asassin's creed - Tumblr loses it  (Read 19282 times)

"females aren't being represented in a way that conflicts with the game's era! oppression!"
that's the one thing i can get behind, cus loveism existed. like, a lot of it.

but even with that in mind, we're playing a game about mystical robed ninjas fighting crusaders for a magical apple from techno gods- accuracy can slip a lil' bit.

they carried down the tradition, that's their thing.
The idea is to blend in and sneak around, not stick out.

except all of that is vital to the preestablished story

making women suddenly have rights wouldn't make any sense, even with the game's artistic license

that is actually a very good point

anyways besides that: tumblr is lashing out at the animators, calling them idiots even though the animators' opinions matter jack stuff to ubisoft

yeah the main tumblr argument is that
"ITS ALREADY UNREALISTIC ENOUGH!!!):::::::::::"

the only time it made sense was in ac1 cus you would pretend to be a priest, and do the praying thing (which was also forgetin awesome- there was a pray button)

at least i this renaissance one they're all wearing different, darker colors.

dude, i turned into a wolf and fought George Washington, a female assassin is okay

isn't that an alternate universe dlc though

to be fair, the renaissance was a time of artistic flair and independent style

being gaudy was perfectly acceptable

i wouldn't want a female to be there just to be there, but what pisses me off is that ubisoft felt the need to make some BS statement about it

if a chick isn't integral to the plot, okay. i bet there were scrapped guy designs too. i still think there is a lot of loveism in games but im okay with that. but still.

Female assassins existed during that time. Educate yourself.

"women suddenly have rights"
>rights to be an assassin
>rights to commit crime by murder
Never knew killing those employed by the government was something only legal for men. Man, all this legal murder. It makes you wonder why the guards fight back? I mean, you're a man, you have rights to kill!

You can't be serious.

Reread the entire topic and discover that, a male animation director who has worked on a previous game in the series, has also insulted the animators.

educate me, i'd like to know

I already mentioned geishas, bro

okay what in the actual forget are you talking about

I was referring to needlessly breaking the game's universe by giving the women of france rights (during the very beginning of the revolution) despite the american revolution and all that other jazz not having it

you could already recruit female assassins in acb and acr, plus there was that liberation thing a little while ago

i don't think rights have anything to do with it, but i feel like the assassin's wouldn't be keen on hiring chicks because they were probably a bit loveist too

kind of a richard move on his part

also i would just like to say regardless of ubisoft's decision tumblr would have complained. for example, not "representing women well enough." because the character didn't have a complex and deep backstory with real problems and disabilities. and if she wasn't enough of a minority.
>implying any of ubisoft's characters, regardless of gender, have a complex and deep backstory with really problems and disabilities.

I hate the robe thing. It made sense in the first game since people wore robes during the period. But during the renaissance and American revolution it is stupid to be wearing those things.
I agree

They could do a lot of cool stuff if they had your character dress appropriate to the time period

the funniest thing is

how many tumblr radicals have ever even played AC
