Author Topic: Need help playing Simtower on a modern system.  (Read 1562 times)

I recently went to a flea market and picked up Simtower.
The only problem is that when I try to run it on my modern Windows 7 64 bit pc, I get this error message:

Can someone help me get it to work?

Run it in compatibility mode as Windows XP.
Right click on the executable,
Properties > Compatibility tab > turn on Compatibility mode, and set it to Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Same result

You need to run it with DosBox. How? Beats me.

It says on the game itself that it can run on windows 3.1 and windows 95.
I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon on the same day (Which works on both OSes as well), and I got it to work when I put it on compatibility mode.
Is there a patch I need to download?

The installer is 16-bit, which is why you're getting that error. 64-bit CPUs don't have 16-bit capability.

You need to find a way to install the game manually, or at least find somebody who made an updated installer.

It can't be run in dosbox, I tried to find way to run it including emulating 3.1 in dosbox but i didn't have any luck :(
