the "//" is a common thing. Its used by roleplayers to mean that what they are saying is out of character. That may mean something.

Both (( OOC )) and // OOC are valid forms of OOC talking.
Or going with the idea of the "AI ONLINE" thing
"//" is how you comment out a line in most coding languages
