that game where greytide fun happens in an awesome spacestation

About

Space Station 13 is an open-source game, where, simply put, chaos ensues. To better describe it, the game plays in a round-like fashion. Each round can be hours or minutes depending on what happens. The crew of the space station need to defend some several hazards, which can be, and I am not kidding here: traitors, nuke operatives, wizards, giant plants, goats, stuffcurity, double agents, cults, and last but not least, clowns. Most players roleplay but some just richard around like mongols.

Players are randomly picked to be these traitors, and in an average round there are 30-100 people on the station, all individual crew members.

In the crew there are various jobs. Research directors, mimes, engineers and technicians, security officers, chemists and cargo technicians are among the many who roam the station every shift. When they aren't bashing skulls in, they work on their job: e.g setting up the station's engines, researching machines, and killing the clown. The game's graphics are quite archaic (considering y'know its made in an engine from 2003) and its from a top-down perspective. It is currently open-source and all servers are run by players. No clue what happened to the original developers.

If you want to get started, you MUST read the wiki for the server you plan to play on.

To REALLY get started, you need to download the game first. Somes steps:

1: Download the BYOND client. It can be found on byond.com
2: Open the BYOND client. Make sure you have BYOND 500+.
3: Find Space Station 13 in the little menu-thing on the left, click on it.
4: Pick from any of the many player-hosted servers available! Most servers vary in roleplaying-nature and chaos, so do some research before you pick.

I REALLY reccommend that you play this. Learning it is hard, but it is damn worth it in the end. Excited? Wondering how much the game costs? Zero dollars and zero cents. Run wild.

i would play spacestation 13 if it had good player handling and a latency less than 300 like jeez i said to go right 5 seconds ago how am i supposed to go toe to toe with this guy that's shooting me with a gun if it takes 10 seconds to move

oh god I remember this game, it's hilarious

the latency is some stuff with your internet
also what u mean by 'good player handling'

someone needs to host this game so we can do a general forgetaround, or maybe an actual serious one

This is definitely worthy of the title "Megathread". Get that "?" out of here.

we can just get on some abandoned server nobody uses

EDIT: holy forget i have an idea
lets all go on griefstation and become the ultimate rulers of the station

-too early for hosting-

going to bump this in case anyone actually cares about the game

"Pretty harsh."
lol please
if you go in the server with little to none RPing experience you will get kicked the forget around

I would change up the poll to be just station variants not servers (like /tg/, goon, bay etc.).
