like seriously. i loving love multiplayer games where the people im playing with are coordinated. it makes it feel so awesome and fun. its why i love revolutionary and cult rounds a lot more than the average assistant

I'm all for RP, but you have to remember that at the end of the day it's a game. with goals.  Sometimes you will have fun at the expense of another player's fun, and sometimes someone will have fun at the expense of yours.  That's just the nature of the game.  Just because you aren't happy about the way you died doesn't mean you should adminhelp it.

Edit: Another thing that annoys me is the all-too-common "no bigotry rule."  It just makes no sense for RP.  Sure, you shouldn't be calling the admins friends on OOC but sometimes you have homophobic characters, it happens.  Banning this only limits roleplay and nothing else.  Literally no one worthwhile is offended by a 2D space dude saying "friend."

I'm not sure if Bay has the "no hurt feelings" rule, but I'm just discussing RP servers in general.

That's average.

I gotta get back into this...

I only play as a medic, I really like saving people's lives

There's a line in between that nobody seems to realize exists.  Yes, people will have fun at the expense of other people, but there's a point where things are too "play to win" for a roleplay server - Aiming solely to win is not the point of antagonists on roleplaying servers, the point is to make the round, I quote, "interesting," for as many people as possible.
In other words, parapen-stripping-tossing-a-dude-into-space is stuffty and no fun to anyone but yourself. The guy has no interaction except "ur ded loel" and generally no one's going to find this naked body mysteriously and silently tossed into space.

Also, you know what's fun? Making demands! Take the Captain hostage or some stuff and then execute his dumb ass when security ignores your demands and tries gunning you down (which they will, unfortunately!)

Anyway, I'm aware I may as well be talking to brick walls about this, I just enjoy desperately trying to beat into people's heads "this can be fuuuun damn yoooou." Though it's also usually into people who join and demand to stay on the server and forget up despite not liking how the server works (which are the people I actually have problems with), so, meh, whatever! :P

Also: "Losing" can be fun, especially in a roleplaying game, though I'm aware it's not 100% possible all the time. Wherever I can toss that in the above paragraphs.

Pff no, even the staff are asshats both ICly and OOCly.

Also the only time I ever banned people for being bigots ICly is if they're begging for attention with it.
Making "friend" or "monday" literally every second word is stupid as stuff.

Except when you try to make it fun, stuff gets flipped right back around at you, hostages get out, Security guns you down, or the some other stuff happens, and then who's the one stuck in perma/dead due to firing squad for the rest of the round? You. Trying to make it fun usually makes it very not fun for yourself.

At this point all I can say is "sucks for you." :P

Same can be said for those who die from parapen-strip-space tactics.

All I'm saying now is don't do it on a roleplay server. :P

Roleplay servers should only have extended active.

So, what's the difference between the four LLJK stations? These ones are goonstation, correct?

I've never played goonstation but i'm interested in trying it, but there are four stations..

IIRC LLJK 3 is for testing new stuff and LLJK 4 is a server based in europe

Where's Urist McStation on that poll? It's a medium-RP server that uses Baycode with some features lifted from /tg/ and /vg/ along with some original stuff thrown in. I'm an admin there.

The server itself peaks at around twenty-five people and averages 15-20 most of the time. A good number of the players come from the Bay 12 forums - where the server was founded - but it's been open to the public for a good while now so we have a solid group of players from other servers.

doesn't nien play there aswell

also i thought it was a bit dead ever since i hopped on and got arrested, beaten, and tortured by a non-antag security officer for finding a dead body in the previously-on-fire bar
