it should be illegal to bundle software with products, especially how it's done with 'express' and 'custom' routes so that people who don't know/care/are in a hurry just hit 'express' and download a stuffton of adware and bundled pieces of garbage for money. Not to mention certain companies like Toshiba also do this with their laptops and pre-install crap on there as well for extra money.

Like seriously, it's loving annoying.

my grandparents always get into trouble with this stuff because they don't understand how to not install the extra garbage they bundle with the stuff they want.

Its a form of marketing. Technically you shouldn't be blindly clicking away seeing how you are "suppose" to read the terms and conditions.

Not to say I approve of it but I never install anything "Automatically"

You guys, this isn't going to pass unless we harass our representatives to stuff. And of course internet companies are going to lobby our representatives to serve their interests. forget lobbying. We need campaign finance reform.

As much as I'm good at avoiding these things, it's still unnecessary. I really shouldn't have to take the extra steps to read every single button and checkbox to get as little bloatware as possible.
Should go:
Intro screen with just next/cancel buttons.
Terms and conditions. Agree/Cancel buttons.
Install options. Such as language, path, shortcuts, and any add-ons the devs feel necessary to include. Next/cancel buttons.
Done.

None of this [Default checked] Yes, I want to install Gamespy so I can play with my friends online.
Or even
"Look at this stuffty toolbar, click agree to install it, click disagree to continue installing the program you want"
