what does this staying still do? also, can you feel pain in the dreams? say if scout hit you upside the head with an aluminum bat? or getting shot with a scattergun?
Some pain I can feel, some I can't

I guess it depends on how realistic the dream is and how i keep the pain in consideration, they are dreams that you control, so yeah

what does this staying still do? also, can you feel pain in the dreams? say if scout hit you upside the head with an aluminum bat? or getting shot with a scattergun?

staying still tricks your mind into thinking your body is asleep, so your mind thinks you're starting to dream so it locks up your body so you don't act out your dreams AKA sleep paralysis.

Also, pain in dreams is kind of an iffy area. Sometimes you won't feel anything, sometimes you'll feel everything, and sometimes you can choose.

I suppose it just depends on your mental state at the time.

wait
so if you actually remember your dreams they are lucid dreams?

Goddamn, if it were that easy I'd be having the best dreams ever.
Ikr. Awhile ago I was experimenting with lucid dreaming, of course I haven't had a lucid dream since I was 10. I was able to remember my dreams a hell of a lot better than I used to. Writing them down and teling yourself to remember your dreams shelp.

also I found a way to turn a regular dream into a lucid dream. In reality get into the habit of stopping what you are doing and asking yourself,  "is this a dream?" If you do this enough then that habit wil be carried into your dreams. You will then proceeded to ask yourself in the dream "is this a dream? Oh... it is" and that should make it lucid.

staying still makes you have the lucid dream in simple terms

Lol, well, well, well, it seems I'm not the only one that does this, it doesn't do any harm to the body, but it will leave your body aching a little cause your lying their stiffly.  My dreams can be so real and controlling it is not a problem with me, I started this when I was little, after the time I fell off the top bunk and landed on my head on the wooden floor, after that I try not to move as much in my sleep.

lolno

A lucid dream is a dream where you are AWARE you're dreaming.

There are "layers" of lucidity (as described by one Giz Edwards) and at the lowest "layer", you're simply vaguely aware you're dreaming but don't have any control over what goes on. At the highest "layer", you've pretty much got control over everything.

why would it be a good idea to stay still then? for sleep paralysis? what about the adventures?

Consider sleep paralysis like a gateway to lucidity. The technique I described is called the "WILD" technique and is the most effective/common one.

Or so I hear.

wait how are you supposed to stay still without blinking? wat this is so confusing.

why would you be blinking you're basically trying to go to sleep without letting your mind go to sleep; your eyes would be closed

To be honest, it takes a lot of self control not to give in to the itch and swallow reflexes, but these are signs that your mind is checking if your body is asleep. If you don't respond, it'll start into paralyzing your body for sleeping.

that sounds like it'd make me fall asleep lol.

that sounds like it'd make me fall asleep lol.

that's the idea, but you don't want your mind to go to sleep so you just have to try and keep your mind active without doing anything with your body physically

so day dreaming is really lucid dreaming because i'm aware i'm dreaming

so day dreaming is really lucid dreaming because i'm aware i'm dreaming

no day dreaming is just using your imagination while you're awake

lucid dreaming is when you're mentally and physically asleep but your mind (you) is aware that you're dreaming during a dream.
