Author Topic: A Minecraft Challenge...  (Read 1565 times)

Minecraft gets kind of boring after a while, so I took the Nomad Challenge and added some stuff to it.

This challenge has the following rules:

1. Set gamemode to Hardcore.
2. You can only fill up your hot-bar, not your inventory.
3. You have to constantly be moving.
4. You can only set up shelter for one night.
5. You are not allowed to use gold in any form.
6. If You have a chest/large chest, You can use nine spaces of your inventory.
7. Try to survive 15 days and nights.
8. You are not allowed to destroy spawners.

I was extremely bored when I made this.
Tell me if You made it through the whole challenge.
:/

Fact: If You have the demo version of Minecraft, build a boat, and escape the mainland by going out into the sea behind where You spawn (assuming You have the default seed of 343522682), if You travel far enough, You will come across a desert island that has a large savanna biome.

One minecraft day is 20 minutes. Times 15 is 300 minutes, which is 5 hours.

You want someone to play minecraft, nonstop, while constantly moving for 5 hours.

Never said nonstop.
I just said at a constant pace.
You can quit the game and all, since it freezes progress when You exit.

Stop Capitalizing You Every Time
It's Almost As Bad As Typing Like This

Its not even close to being that bad

It was a habit, but then I just decided why the hell not.

You capitalize at the beginning of a new sentence.

Constantly.
Nonstop means never stopping.

I think it's pretty obvious You don't have to play it a ridiculously long time.
The game freezes progress when You exit anyways (as stated above.)

that isn't worth complaining about in the slightest

Constantly is a synonym with nonstop.

this seems like a fun challenge, i may try it sometime today

Stop loving nitpicking, it's pretty clear that he means 'don't make a house, just gather resources and keep moving'. It's not a loving English thesis, it's a challenge.

i don't get it how can you craft stuff (i.e. a chest) without opening the crafting menu and therefore stopping your movement

One can interpret "don't stop moving" as in don't stay in a location the whole game. Which would make more sense as someone could just dig down a hole, fill it up and just spin in circles for 5 hours for whatever reason.
But since those challenges are mostly for self-accomplishment (which is completely fine and I encourage doing this sort of stuff for any game) you may as well as just use other "rules" or "interpret" them. But something like "don't stop moving" in the sense I said above would be the basic principle to begin with for any of self-accomplishments challenges.

The rule I don't understand at all is about the shelter - You can only use a shelter once in those whole 15 days or can you set up a new shelter in a new location every night?
