International football really is one of the dumbest sports I have ever seen. They kick a ball back and forth across the field over and over and over and hardly EVER do they actually score. It's simply stupid. It's not the slightest bit fun to watch at all. If I want to watch a bunch of people run for no reason I can play some Sonic the Hedgehog.
You can clearly see how flawed the sport is in the fact that many teams resort to faking injuries on the field to get fouls and penalties on the other team in order to make progress, because they know it's next to impossible to simply win playing on the field alone. How pathetic it truly is. You have GROWN MEN rolling around on the field crying like a bunch of freaking babies and faking broken bones.
You rarely ever see as much behavior like that in American Football. And I don't even LIKE sports period.
Yes because GROWN MEN's injuries in American Football have resulted in homicides, Self Deletes, and DUI's involving multiple vehicles. Former professional NFL players have been filing lawsuits against the NFL because there's a very real problem at hand.
Q. Why does this happen?
A. This happens because the sport has only gotten rougher due to the amount of padding each player is required to wear. Thus, hard hits are commonplace. The helmet isn't a lifesaver when it's used as a battering ram into another player, and we've seen the NFL be forced to address this. They want to make helmets tougher, they want to clamp down on the use of P.E.Ds, and they want to address off the field violence and activities. They're all linked you could argue.
FOR THE RECORD:
I have been a witness to horrible career ending injuries on the pitch as a fan. Notably in 2010 Preston Burpo of the New England Revolution collided with a New York Redbulls striker as he was deflecting a ball. I watched Preston's leg snap in half basically. It was completely unintentional and it stopped the game for 15 minutes while he was screaming for a stretcher. That's loving brutal and I hope I never have to see that kind of injury on the field.
