His explanation was horrid.
I admit that i barely know anything of neither, but go ahead and give out your own.
Liberalism is usually progressive, but conservatism is usually about keeping the current way of life or reverting back to an older one. As such, conservatives are associated with deeply religious people.
Authoritarian governments hold lots of power, while the idea behind libertarianism is that the government should be very limited. I wouldn't know how it works out in practice, though.
Well basically in communist government the government controls what a company produces and does. In a libertarian government, the company decides that for itself.
The benefit of giving freedom to the companies is that there's lost of diversity in manufacturers, meaning a constant competition to win over customers with shiny things and quality. In a communist country like soviet union, the government decided what a company produces for 5 years based on public interest at the time. The problem is that after a year when everyone is driving Cadillacs, they want to get Ferraris, but because Cadillacs are going to be produced for 4 more years, it will take 4 years until the demands of public interest are met. Communism also has no competition, so products will often be of low quality and remain at high prices no matter how bbrown town the price to performance ratio is.
