Simon opens the plate glass door of the firing range and walks to the front desk. A man who is average in pretty much all human aspects mans the front desk, on guard for anyone who might enter his domain and ask for a few minutes at the range. Simon opens his mouth to speak when the man silences him with a wave of the hand.
"1st Lt .Simon Hadwell, 514th Squadron "Mjolnir". Time is free for members of the military and any allied militaries, as is ammunition. Just walk in sir."
"Thanks."
Simon walks into a long hallway that extends about 50 meters forward. Doors are places about 5 meters away from each other. He walks to Room 6- his designated room- and enters it. Inside are a table, a firing range that extends about 100 meters, and a dispenser with a computer screen attached to it. The range is indoors, and you can clearly see where the targets pop-up- nothing too fancy.
Simon taps a few times to requisition a
SEAR-5.56 rifle, the current service rifle of the NAUC military. A few seconds later the rifle is dispensed with 2 magazines of 5.56 NATO ammunition.
"Like a can of soda. Jesus"
A voice yells at him over the intercom.
"You can use voice commands you know, this isn't last century."
Simon shrugs his shoulders and grabs the rifle. He inserts a magazine into the rifle and roosters it. He flicks the selector switch to 3-round burst fire and takes a firing position.
"Static targets, 100 meters."
The first target pops up. Simon takes aim as he pulls the trigger. His muscles tense as he keeps the weapon on center. Three spent cartridges eject and fall on the ceramic floor. Three holes form on the paper target- one in the chest, one in the neck, and one in the lower head. The second target comes up, and so does the fourth, and all the way to the tenth.
29 out of 30 rounds. Not bad for an air force guy.
Simon takes out his cell phone and dials Obrad's number.
yes there isn't actually a 3-round burst setting on the rifle in the picture deal w/it
