I head towards the F-18 after I patch the holes with a book for the bottom and piece of duck tape (don't judge me) for the top.
idfk all i am doing is heading toward the F-18 and when it is in range I fire at it

The enemy fighter dodges the incoming cannonfire and starts boosting towards the dirigible.

Uslar pulls up above cloud level and releases flares+chafe

"I have some guys on my tail prime for the picking guys, have at them!"

Uslar then rolls to the right and increases airspeed

You lose all three missiles, the last one realigning at the last moment and passing close enough to your roosterpit to temporarily blind you from the flames.

I lock on to two Jaguars with my JSMs and fire them before pitching down the nose of my aircraft to intercept the damaged Jaguar. "AWACS, I need an update on the proximity of the primary targets to the facility."

The two Jaguars engage countermeasures and both missiles whiff.
Strategic bombers and attack helicopter support are 40 kilometers out.

"Heatseeker... Okay..."
Simon presses a button and flares pop from the back of his jet.

The missile goes for the flares a bit late and physically hits your tail wing, damaging the hydraulics and spilling fuel and shrapnel against your aircraft. Fortunately, it does not detonate, and you at least still have a plane to fly. Your maneuvering ability is now heavily reduced.

I get in close to the Jaguar, get behind it, and fire one HSM, as well as some cannonfire for good measure.

The Jaguar releases flares and then dumps speed, flying vertically into the cannon fire. Its fuselage is heavily damaged but it is still in the air and now pursuing.

With little telling of what these escorts have in store, I follow my gut instincts. The Mirage 4000 pitches up once again as I pull back on the stick and increase power to right below the afterburner threshold. Hopefully I can put a little more distance between myself and these starfishs without sticking my tail out.

The Viggens pursue vigorously, and apparently they lack lasers, railguns, plasma cannons, nor any other sort of highly advanced weaponry. They do, however, have large 89 kilogram missiles and autocannons. Which while probably not as bad, is still just as worrying as those, too, have a habit of exploding planes. One of the Viggens attempts to prevent you from maneuvering using cannon fire and the other launches a heatseeker.

I lock on to the F-18 and fire a full MMS salvo or two at it.

I begin a counter-maneuver, firing more cannonfire along the way.

"forget, Self Delete bomber or something!" I say after Steele fires his MMS at it.

attempt to dive under cloud level to loose prusuers and regain vision

"I'm dropping through the clouds, some guys migght be following me after, shoot down those bogies if they are!"

I lock on to the F-18 and fire a full MMS salvo or two at it.
It drops flares and pulls up, only to get smacked by three of the missiles anyway. Its' engines sputter and die, leaving it to fall back down to earth.

"[Eagle Flight, this is ground leader, I am beginning the final approach on the lake. My men have abandoned ship and will require retrieval, I will make sure this unwieldy behemoth gets where it needs to. Thank you for keeping the enemy off our backs.]"

With that, the dirigible comes down hard on the beach, leaving a wide trench in its wake as it skids into the water, finally coming to a halt well beneath the surface. Shortly after things seem to have settled, a massive plume of water erupts from the downed airship's final resting place, signifying the end of this terrorist plot.

Incoyotl: "[I shall collect what's left of the drop troops. You lot can return to base at your leisure. As always, it has been a pleasure flying with you, Major.]"

Coaxoch: "[And the same to you, Sir.] All-right, boys, let's head home."

The return trip is rather uneventful, with the exception of Daxton's makeshift repairs coming undone a few minutes before landing.

I lock onto the damaged Jaguar I'm facing, leading slightly before firing a heatseeker and an extended burst of cannon fire. I pull on the stick and break off to get infrared locks onto one of the two Jaguars that scrapped my missile shots earlier.

"Hey Cage, if you can get them in front of me, I'll be able to get a shot off on them" I look at my radar screen before looking for the rest of the squadron. "The rest of the flight is engaged."

I hit the throttle as the familiar tone of a successful lock-on chimes solidly in my ears and release the heatseeker from my wing, prepared to fire another.

Simon attempts to stay on the Jaguar's tail as he locks on the enemy jet once again and fires a missile.

I look in the mirror to find the Viggens persistently glued in place. stuff. Can't out-climb them, can't out-dive them. If I make a turn to try and shake one off, the other will come back around to bite me. My eyes wander from the HUD down to the red safety cover on the front console. The alpha limiter toggle...

Bright tracers fly past the canopy, and the missile approach warning tone fills my ears once again. I guess it's a little too early to be consider pulling an ace in the hole. Here we go.

"Cowboy, defending inbound Fox 2!"

I do my best to pull away from the gunfire with a slight turn. After about two seconds, I quickly roll the aircraft upside-down and pitch into a high-G turn, popping flares to trash the missile.

The return home was uneventful. Landing was uneventful, however Rye's makeshift repairs slipped so there's that. I head to unsuit.

The rest of the squad is probably in the rec room, as usual, if you want to go be social.

when uslar slightly regains sight he attempts to pull to the right infront of Motyl a fair distance

I head into the rec room with everyone else. Before I step in, however, I stop. What if I'm being controlled by some invisible person, writing out everything I say and do? I quickly dismiss the thought as ridiculous.
