It sounds great. Cannot wait

*EDITTED*

No it is not, I have to finish the website before I can move onto the client.

Okay, that explains why I couldn't register on the website.

Also, will your team be setting up a place where music loops can be uploaded?
It's the one feature if RTB that I've always wanted.

This looks promising, can't wait till its finished :D

Judging by your signature, its hard to believe your age.
What does my signature have to do with my age? I actually am 15. Even if my signature is a bit silly, that has nothing to do with my maturity or my coding skills.

Did someone give that BLID to you?
No, I bought it myself.

EDIT: Plimus?
Yes, but my original ID is 18777.

"This isn't fun, this is hard work no one wants to do unless they volunteer knowing whats ahead of them. It looks like your in it for the fame."

I was actually excited about contributing to the community by helping out this project. I love Blockland and love coding and add-ons, and would love to have this job.

I have edited the application. Please re-evaluate.

Why do you want to review addons?
I want to review add-ons to keep people safe from dangerous backdoors or things for specific player(s) advantage.

What are your methods on testing addons?
I'd first look through each bit of the code and such. Check the description of the mod to clarify my understandings. Then I would test the Add-On in Single-Player aswell as Multi-Player to see any differences of the gameplay stratification.

How can you tell if they are broken or not?
I would check the console.log and find any Syntax Errors into the mod itself. Also I would use Sublime Text and Notepad++ to check for backdoors, spam scripts, etc.

Are you willing to take at least 5-10 hours out of your week to test and review addons?
I would do my very best, yes.

Do you promise that you will not abuse your powers?
Here I stand to promise that I will not abuse my powers as a Add-On Reviewer

If you see that the addons are in the wrong category, will you put them in the right ones?
Yes, I will.

Will you respond to reports from broken addons?
I come often to the website, so yes.

Do you have any other skills that will help you test the addons?

I have experience of coding and I have been making a few scripts time-by-time

Why do you want to review addons?
To insure that your "customers" get proper add-ons that do not contain malicious code.

What are your methods on testing addons?
Running them in game.

How can you tell if they are broken or not?
Because I know what i'm doing.

Are you willing to take at least 5-10 hours out of your week to test and review addons?
Probably not that much, maybe up to 5 hours.

Do you promise that you will not abuse your powers?
Yes.

Prevent awfully made/game-breaking add-ons being released

The same as standard? I mean there's not many ways to do it. Look at code and if needed try in-game.

If my computer explodes.

Why do you want to review addons?
I want to review addons because I don't want repeats of what was seen in RTB; which was shotty and slow. Many exploits, even one by Iban that was used to take complete control of servers, made it through undetected.

What are your methods for testing addons?

First off, running the addon itself tends to work very well. But if they're half-decently smart then it'll require some critical thinking. I've worked with TS for around 7 years now, and I know it down to the machine code that it's translated to by blockland itself. I've even found vulnerabilities in large addons like RTB. If it's broken or exploitable, I will find it.

How can you tell if they are broken or not?

Common sense, and the console. Syntax errors = broken. Bugs = broken. Et cetera, not that difficult.

Are you willing to take 5 - 10 hours out of your week to test addons?

I'll be willing to donate as much time as it takes, with more focus on larger addons.

Do you promise you will not abuse your powers?

Pff, even if I did abuse it someone else would probably catch me. Not a chance of me abusing.

If you see that the addons are in the wrong category, will you put them in the right ones?

Yes, this is common sense.

Will you respond to reports from broken addons?

I'm not sure what this means, but I'll assume it's like the bug system RTB had and say yes.

Do you have any other skills that will help you test the addons?

I'm a skilled programmer with around 7 years experience in torquescript, and very good critical thinking skills.

Half the questions on this "application" are common sense or implied.

Anyways, the applications will be reviewed by us in a day or two. You still have time to send in your applications.

What are your methods on testing addons?
I check the code for any TorqueScript quirks and backdoors, as well as syntax errors in case the add-on's really broken.
I also test the add-on in-game to make sure it doesn't break anything.

How can you tell if they are broken or not?
I thought this was kind of obvious, but anyway.
If the add-on spams my console with errors, that's one way to tell.
If the add-on crashes only on dedicated servers I also know how to solve this problem.
(local variables outside functions cause dedicated servers to crash)
If it's riddled with bugs and broken functionality, that's also a way to tell.
Expanded on questions - edited my appliaction.

"Why do you want to review addons?"

To actually give critical reviews on addons and break them down listing the pro's and con's without any biased opinion.

"What are your methods on testing addons?
How can you tell if they are broken or not?"

Logging, console, reading the code beforehand, looking for any unintened side-effects of the add-on (such as missing textures, sounds, models, etc).

"Are you willing to take at least 5-10 hours out of your "week" to test and review addons?"

I will donate as much time as possible to the project. I will stay as dedicated as you need me.

"Do you promise that you will not abuse your powers?"

Why would I, it would mean that I'd lose the trust of you and the whole community in the process. So it'd be pretty dumb on my part to do so.

"If you see that the addons are in the wrong category, will you put them in the right ones?"

Yes I will, with all deliberate speed.

"Will you respond to reports from broken addons?"

As said before, yes I will.

"Optional: "Do you have any other skills that will help you test the addons?

I've had my share of programming and modifying in other games other than blockland. I'd be happy to take and use that experience here to help out.

I hope I can help you guys as much as possible and to create a contructive reviewing environment.

I honestly think we only need dedicated and fluent scripters as Add-on Reviewers. You can't have a junkie sneak by through an application.

Give everyone, but the people who have shat out add-ons in there time here, an Add-on Reviewer Jr. job. You HAVE to know Tourqe fluently in order to effectively do this job. That is not an optional job. If you miss one slip of an add-on's code, you can easily have that said add-on delete every bloody thing in your save folder, or worse, your blockland folder. I've heard that it can happen.

A smart person in this job would always make backups. If it's going to be risky, prepare for the worst.
