Hello all! A couple weeks ago, I came up with the idea of creating an accurate miniature replica of the contiguous United States. I began this project in Mid-June by searching for a pixelated (.png) map of the United States with state borders. I found the perfect one for my interests, and I set the scale as 1 sq. pixel = one 2x2 in BL. I started by outlining Florida, then Georgia, then Alabama, and so on until I finally got to the last state, Washington. My map will include the 48 continental states and Washington, D.C.

Parts:

49 Outlines (Mid-June - 7/3/14)
Biomes/Relief/Terrain & Hydrography (7/4/14 - 9/18/14)
Highways and Major Roads (9/19/14 - 7/6/15)
Cities and Towns (7/7/15 - 7/20/16, ??? - ???)
Major Landmarks
Trees and Shrubbery
Extras (Planes, ships, etc.)

Tasks Available for Help:

  • Airplane Dupable(s)
  • Cargo Ship Dupable(s)
  • Structure and/or House Dupable(s)
  • City Dupable(s)
  • Tree/Shubbery Dupable(s)
  • Landmark Dupable(s) (Please PM Me!)

If you decide to build any cities or towns, make sure the city is a state capital and/or their population is 50,000+.

Cities and Towns Help Guidelines:

1. If there are any airports near the city, you must build it.
2. Runways must be made with 0.25 small plates (can be found with 0.5 and 0.75 small plates). They must also be the color Greyscale - 1.
3. Buildings and structures must adhere to the general scale (refer to the approximate structure scale in the lower right hand of the map in-server for an example).

If you decide to help with one of the above, please put your build on a baseplate in one of the dupable zones on the server. Make sure to put your IGN, BL_ID, and what the creation is somewhere on the baseplate. Any creation that is not on a baseplate, does not have a BLID, does not have a label which states what the creation is, and/or is not in a dupable zone will not be used.

Isn't there a mod called img2brick where you can use a jpeg to create a pixel image of it in blockland?

I couldn't find any definite links. The only one I found was suspicious.

Wow!
That's cool that you didn't even use a image to brick mod, that's awesome!

Oh wow. This is really cool

nation-wide mini empires?
He actually has a good point. for a mini empire map it will be pretty fun. will it be heightened?
adding things like mountain ranges would make it a very nice mini empires map for public use. If I were you I'd go down this route :)

I think making terrain first would be a lot better
