Author Topic: ██ Use encryption? NSA says you might be a terrorist! Warrantless searches! ██  (Read 10240 times)

What makes you think the internet, an international 'area' open to all, is the same as your privately owned abode?

If I went into the street and sprayed graffiti everywhere detailing my name, address, spending habits, interests and interactions with others, and a policeman came and looked at it, you'd call me ridiculous if I got angry that the policeman has looked at it or written it down, because it was in public.
But if the policeman saw the graffiti detailing the plans of a criminal about to commit arson or a shooting or a bombing, and he stopped that man because he had loojed at his graffiti, no one would be complaining.

And should a police officer come into my house with a warrant and seacrch the place, they'd have had reasonable suspicion to believe I was up to something allowing them in to my private home. But if the courtthen found I was Iinnocent of what I was charged with the police wouldn't be using my innocent information from my house against me, because they have better things to do.
Because our loving communications are supposed to be private. It's like our mail, it's supposed to be private mail, only between the person mailing it and the person receiving it.

Looking at our private emails is like the Stasi steam opening letters. It's bullstuff.

oh
I never heard of that site though
it's a german site but the article is in english

Some new stuff I found on The Guardian: GCHQ (British Intelligence Agency) set up fake internet cafes to spy on foreign politicians.
http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/jun/16/gchq-intercepted-communications-g20-summits

I dunno, child research or something I guess.
If you can't give a straight answer then I don't think you should participate in the discussion.

fix your brain.
really bad would be:

Downloading torrents and stuff from isohunt and thepiratebay which involves the DMCA and stuff
child research
cyberhacking including tracing someones house and attempting to take down a government website or any website
doing something which involves copyright

So why not just crack down on those things instead of invading everyone's privacy and making sneaky ass backdoors in common software.

I'd like to point out that the GCHQ spied on foreign diplomats apparently JUST SO THEY COULD GET AHEAD IN MEETINGS. They aslo saved their online login data, and the NSA tried to spy on Dmitry Medvedev

If you have done nothing wrong, they won't spy on you, right?

"hot DAMN JERRY LOOK AT THIS 19 YEAR OLD LOOKING AT BANANAS"
"woah man holy stuff"
"yo yo yo whats happenin up in this"
"tom this 19 year old guy is lookin up banana history"
"hot damn we better track his every move"

also wtf is with the "Innocent Sites and Blogs get you marked by NSA" previous title

nowhere in real life do i see visiting blogs getting you marked by NSA. that would literally just be a huge waste of time.

"yo jerry"
"ya jeff"
"look at this kid lookin at some otherkin blog site"
"follow his every loving move"

you know there are things called technology blogs and news sites right?

If you can't give a straight answer then I don't think you should participate in the discussion.
I have the answer, I'm just too far tired to get a full one

yes, i'm oversimplifying it. What I was trying to say is that, i'm pretty sure the NSA wouldn't waste their entire day tracking some 10-84 year old who pretty much just goes on youtube or some forum. while it is ridiculous/very stupid to have fake internet cafes, not everyone is a foreign diplomat, even though some may act like it.

why do they track people visiting blogs? unless they're blogs that tell you how to make weapons or turn your computer into a gas bomb. Why would NSA care if you follow your friend's/cousin's/whatever's blog?

the nsa cares if you visit a technology blog because they don't want people keeping their own things private. and they care if you look up research, other stuff, etc. because they can use that to blackmail you. government agencies have done that before. see j. edgar hoover's FBI blakmailing martin luther king jr. with evidence of him cheating. stuff like that has happened before and it can HAPPEN AGAIN.
