Tiling WM's are overrated and I have no need for it. But, that's just my opinion.

I might switch away from GNOME 3 if I ever feel like re-scripting my own desktop environment (again). But right now, I'm comfortable with GNOME 3.

I prefer Cinnamon. Looks and functions hella nice and has given me the least trouble out of every DE I've tried.

I absolutely loved GNOME 2 and I'm happy that MATE exists. I initially hated GNOME 3. But, it's gotten way better with the introduction of the tweak tool, extensions and themes.

I prefer Cinnamon. Looks and functions hella nice and has given me the least trouble out of every DE I've tried.

I tried out Cinnamon but I didn't like it as much. Not sure why, I think it was little things that bugged me.

I haven't used MATE since then either, but from what I've heard, all of GNOME 2 has been ported over at this point, so MATE should now be more or less equal to using the last version of GNOME 2 (2.32). The fact that it's available in Arch/Parabola's repos and no longer only obtainable in the AUR also leads me to believe it's more or less complete, too.
