You ever thought of dual booting with Linux?
I always wanted to do that, but none of my computers can handle Windows.

stuck on windows xp while i'm on vacation :(

before anyone asks why there's so much dumb stuff on the desktop: this laptop came from my dad's workplace and it pretty much only used by my mostly computer-illiterate mother

i can dual boot no problem but i cant use 2 os at the same time
for example when i repaired my big rig i did a dual boot with ubuntu on my laptop and i havent booted ubutntu up once

Ubuntu isn't really as good as it used to be. It's dash menu is filled with annoying things that canonical was paid to add in.
It's just a mess.

If you want a real Debian Linux OS, try Linux Mint.

And what did you mean you haven't booted it up once? Are you unable to boot it, or do you just have no use for it?

dude i know my loving distros okay?
mint sucks for me i dont use linux its useless to me other than server
i didnt boot it up once because as i said earlier its completely useless as a desktop pc os to me

i tried elementary, kinda meh
ubuntu, totally bloated
manjaro, pretty cool
debian, meh
mint, stuffty
arch, i was unable to get dualboot working
crunchbang, openbox dont work for me

the one i liked the most in my "linux experience" was manjaro, then ubuntu
if i was to give someone a tip on choosing a desktop distro for home use and not gaming i would give them manjaro
for a total nub and begginer who cant use windows because its too mainstream i would recommend ubuntu
