it could also be because their last "raid" did pretty much nothing other than get a few people to see some gore or whatever, then they told everyone else to keep out of the tags.

Are you kidding? Everyone was freaking out. So many blogs made so many posts about how they were triggered by the event, and I think this was around the first time "triggered" was used so much that it became a buzzword. There were a number of blogs saying that their friends committed Self Delete because they were triggered by the posts. (These probably weren't true though.) Seriously, the whole website went apestuff simultaneously.

it was pretty much everyone sending out warnings because they had basically broadcasted the plan before they did it but other than that i didnt really see much
