should be until 2020 or so
and that'd be assuming they don't extend it a bit, which may or may not end up occuring

by then your PC will be obsolete anyways so you have nothing to worry

this is entirely normal...
mainstream support for windows operating systems normally lasts about five years
in 2015, it'll have been six

you don't need to worry about that
even XP is still getting security updates
"Microsoft will continue to provide Security Essentials virus definitions and updates for its Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) for XP until July 14, 2015"

"Because they should stop at 7 and go no further."

I just hope they move away from 8's style.

this is what i don't understand
do people not know you can change it from the metro look? also I don't see what's so bad about it when it's pretty damn easy to find things

how many times have you upgraded to it? like 6 times?

I'll stick with 7, thank you. I'll upgrade to 8.1 when I'm the only person left using 7.

You have to think of the way microsoft has to allocates resources.
The battle between the developers and the hackers is a constant arms race. As soon as an exploit is found they have to release a patch as fast as possible. They are spending lots of resources on this upkeep.
Windows isn't making money from older os versions, no one is buying windows xp anymore so windows has to stop spending money on it. They need to allocate more devs on the more popular products eg windows 8.
So are you insisting that windows should bleed money on something they're making no profit on anymore?

Before you make claims like these think critically.

better buy genuine windows 7 while i can :(

you see, i had it and we got some guy to fix my computer, and we got it back fixed but it said "windows was not genuine" i wonder if he stole our product key?

well i got a laptop that uses 8.1 so im cool
