To them.
If the research is of a minor then it is child research.
It might be innocent for two teenagers to send each other the pictures, but it's still handling child research. The imagery could easily end up being sent to other people.

Just because someone is a minor themselves it doesn't mean you can't be guilty of owning or distributing child research.
Even if it's research of yourself.
This contradicts the entire reason why child research is illegal in the first place. The vast majority of child research is produced in third world countries where children are trafficked by child researchographers who make a living by selling their images and videos online. Or in other words, the reason why it's banned is that people do not want to let other people support an industry that thrives on the suffering of enslaved children. Well, that and it's gross.

how does a teenager receiving a nude from another teenager count as child research?

they're both the same age. it's just normal-research to them lol
put it up with the gigantic idiots that make these stupid over-the-top child research laws.

What I find rather hypocritical about these child research laws is that showing a baby's naked and very visible snake in a public Hollywood film seen by millions of Americans is not only tolerated but condoned, yet when an innocent American family goes to walmart to get pictures of their own babies playing with their toys in the bathtub photo-framed as a family momento, she is suddenly considered an extremely dangerous predator/child molester and the government will steal her own children from her.

I wonder when the day will come that our corrupt and wicked Government will be removed from their oppressive reign of cruel power that they have so cleverly disguised by a false sense of freedom, and the Constitution as written by the founding fathers is reinstated as the true authority of American freedom.

I am actually planning a story about it right now as part of the Star Adventures franchise, where in the future a second American civil war occurs, but this time the rebels win.

And I bet you now the NSA is tracking and spying on my family now just because of what I have said here.

That second link doesn't link to anything.

I'm sure that it's illegal on account of not wanting to promote industries that enslave children, but primarily it's just because it's promotive of paedophilia, and love with children or loveualising them is obviously immoral, obscene and disgusting.

It's entirely understandable that there is zero tolerance for research of children and minors.
It's not okay just because it's not done with enslaved children.

I don't really like to justify the laws like that because I think child enthusiasts are sick and should be institutionalized rather than imprisoned, the reason being that you could diagnose and possibly treat them before they ever abuse children. So I guess the gist of it is that I think these laws should just be aimed at protecting kids from abuse rather than focusing on how much we hate child enthusiasts.

Well, strictly speaking, if you did that women and black people wouldn't be able to vote.

This is loving horrible.

Also, why doesn't the girl get in trouble.
She loveted as well.

he probably thinks they shouldn't

"Zero tolerance" is a load of stuff.
It's what gets kids arrested and expelled for bringing scissors into school.

You can have zero tolerance to one thing and not to another.

Are you honestly going to justify tolerating child research.
It doesn't matter if it's being shared between two minors with their consent. The risk is there of it being abused.

There have been cases before where young underage couples send each other 'innocent' images of each other, and then when they break up, one of them uses it as blackmail or sends it to their friends or posts it online.
Not only does it eventually get into the hands of sinister people, including paedophiles, but it also abuses an individual. It's a tiny step before it turns to loveual abuse.

This. No one is being loveually abused here

On the subject of zero tolerance policies
in middle school I got suspended for making threats
The 'threat' i made was a character in a story threatening to stab another character in the story
My high school had a zero tolerance policy for being in a fight. If someone starts a fight with you, even if you don't retaliate, don't do anything, just stand there and take it, you got punished just as much as the other guy. The school had a program where a few days during the summer, the to-be seniors showed the to-be freshman around, got them used to and comfortable with everything, etc. Some of them would actually tell the freshman "if someone starts a fight with you, don't hold back, fight back however much you want, because you'll get in the same amount of trouble either way"

You can have zero tolerance to one thing and not to another.

1. This blackmail doesn't magically stop happening once people turn into adults.
2. child enthusiasts are interested in young children, not 17 year olds who look indistingushable from 18 year olds

lol the exact same thing can happen with ADULT research, sending nude photos of yourself out is dumb no matter what

what is the "loveual abuse"? loveually abusing yourself? the laws exist to prevent minors from being abused or assaulted by adults, usually in 3rd world countries. not to punish stupid kids for sending out nude photos of themself to an individual.

child enthusiasm laws are ridiculous. People focus on punishing and hating child enthusiasts, but really how much of it is there fault? Assaulting minors is wrong, but nobody can control what types of special interestes they have. I think they should be treated as ill and rehabilitated, not locked in a prison cell.

No, it doesn't stop when you're an adult. But adults are held fully responsible for their own actions and the consequences of them.
Minors aren't, so the law provides extra protection to them. The primary aim is to prevent the distribution of under-age research. I mentioned the abuse side because it's an additional reason for cracking down on this sort of stuff. It seriously ruins lives. And I'm sure we're all familiar with how sensitive some people are. Things like this tip overly emotional, possibly disturbed people over the edge. Minors have commited Self Delete over these things before.

And for the second point, you should argue with your own laws for choosing 18 as the age of consent.
The law chose that age to protect everyone under it. Maybe it shouldn't be a blanket treatment of all minors, but it is, for their safety.
Maybe some paedophiles aren't going to abuse people this age. But some will.

You only have to look at Operation Yewtree in the UK at how many people there are who will loveually abuse young people, around the ages of 14-19. They're not free from being targeted or abused just because they're at the upper-end of the age-range for being a minor.

the laws exist to prevent minors from being abused or assaulted by adults, usually in 3rd world countries.
You're naive if you think child protection laws are designed to protect children from foreign countries.
Child abuse happens in the US too, and the laws are there to protect them first. Setting up laws in your country is hardly going to stop loveual abuse in another country.

i'd say the laws for child research and picture transferring are complete and utter bullstuff. no one is being loveually abused in this case, and no one feels threatened.

two minors should be allowed to send pictures of themselves to each other on their own risk. the only intervention that should happen is when an adult is sending unwanted pictures to a minor or when an adult is threatening a minor through loveting.

if child enthusiasm, such as an adult performing child rape on a minor or an adult threatening a minor through loveting, happens then it should be intervened on and investigated. if this is not the case, i believe it should be on the minor's risk only for those pictures to stay secure.
