Main, as in main character.  Like, someone's main persona that they use.  

Because OC is not a term that is synonymous with all characters.

Just gonna say my 2¢ on this OC matter:

I'd consider my gal Maeria a character I made, but I wouldn't go so far as to say she's an OC. I made her in WoW but she has her own story and background and continues to build upon that when I play her. Though the story is fully built upon existing WoW Lore. I say you can call whatever you want an OC to be an OC, as long as it's not literally a blatant copy of something pre-existing (aka here's my character BLONIC). It's a line based on perception. If you put any decent amount of effort to make a character and put personality into it, call it whatever you want.

But in Flat's regard I don't have enough information to have a valued opinion towards his character. If it's literally just a drawing of his Spiral Knight's character, I wouldn't say it's an OC. It's fan art. But if he took the time to make a real CHARACTER out of it, that's different.

well he did say all he did was change the hands and feet, add a tail and change the race. not much of a change there, yet he's calling it entirely original. plus he's calling it 'oc' when he should just be calling it special interest fuel.

Id say that's just a design. There's nothing to it other than being in a game, sorta. Its not really a "character".

well, what i'm saying is that if i take sonic, make his hands black and add wings and call him an angelhog (flatflyer didnt even come up with a race name) it's not exactly something that's worth spending money to commission research over is it? except that's exactly what flatflyer did. the excuse that it's a character creator is bs. you didn't design those assets and even a monkey could put different colored blocks in a specific order. that's like making an OC out of a hat combination you made on roblox. it's dumb.
