Alright, here are my three "serious" characters.
Name: Zak "Weasul" Globel
Species: Sergal
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 160 pounds
Age: 20
General character traits: Timid and shy. Curious and inventive. Kind-natured but generally very quiet in social situations. A little eccentric and geeky, and easily embarrassed or upset. A little bit effeminate. Fascinated with mechanics and technology, and loves creating things. Habitually puts the happiness of others ahead of his own.
Skills: Extreme manual dexterity, passionate, can figure out almost anything
Flaws: Very seclusive, bottles up his emotions, cracks when put on-the-spot (especially in public), forgetful
Notes: Zak is abnormally short and weak when compared to other members of his species. He's generally the "runt of the litter", and was treated accordingly (read: poorly) during his adolescence. He abandoned his home planet to escape persecution, and thus is considered a traitor by his former tribe members.

General character traits: Uncouth and arrogant. Robotic and quiet. Perfectionist. Very antisocial, and rarely in a "good" mood. Wears headphones almost constantly to drown out the world around him. A loner by every metric of the word, and very difficult to get to know.
Skills: Drawing, needlework (sewing, etc), creative writing, debate
Flaws: Easily angered, doesn't let things go, argumentative, selfish, highly pretentious
Notes: His mother was human, and his father was a dragon. He lost both of them when he was an infant and was instead raised by his (human) uncle Drake, who is the founder of an organization devoted to protecting and raising orphaned dragons. He lost his wings and his best friend in a terrible storm when he was 13. Lives in a large house on a huge secluded plot of forested land, which is owned in its entirety by his family.

General character traits: Affectionate and friendly. Lazy and docile. Has an authoritative quality to his voice. Very outgoing and almost always smiling. Quite heavy and gluttonous; loves food. A bit of an attention whore. Modest and accepting, and never afraid of making himself look silly.
Skills: Singing, acting/performing, cooking
Flaws: A little
too open, rarely finishes things, sometimes obnoxious
Notes: While generally lazy, Max is extremely devoted to his physical fitness. He exercises vigorously every day to keep his body healthy enough to support his eating habits. When he's not exercising, he's either eating, hanging out with friends, or (usually) both. He currently has no job, and lives with his mate in a small apartment.
