Author Topic: Teh Legned of Zelda: A Megathread Between Games (pretty new op)  (Read 2259 times)

Because I didn't see a living general Zelda thread...

So anyway, I'm like 70% through my latest run on Skyward Sword and about to get Ocarina of Time 3D (sadly, I never played the N64 original) as well as A Link Between Worlds. Also probably Phantom Hourglass even though I've heard it sucks, just to flesh out my collection.

Topic starter: what's your favorite Zelda dungeon and why?

I've got to say, I really love the Ancient Cistern from Skyward Sword just because of the uniqueness of throwing together a shadow and water dungeon with a central theme from Japanese legends. It was WAY too short though, and the minibosses were so bland. Koloktos more than made up for that in my eyes.

Also, who else is loving PUMPED FOR THE WII U GAME LIKE SDAGSWA

go for it bae. it's an old 4chan joke anyway.

favorite dungeon is the ancient cistern from skyward sword
i was underestimating it because it was the water temple and the water temples in most games are notoriously bad
needless to say it was awesome, especially the boss

go for it bae. it's an old 4chan joke anyway.
i'm gonna make the logo with the forgeted up triforce all fancy looking c:

water temple is best temple

i'm gonna make the logo with the forgeted up triforce all fancy looking c:

use magical photoshop powers to make a forgeted up triforce in the royal crest

ALSO FAVORITE ZELDA OVERALL

I haven't played a lot of the huge highlights in the series (Ocarina most criminally) so my perspective is skewed, but I have a huge connection to Spirit Tracks. It DEFINED my summer after freshman year. I mean, granted, the dungeons aren't great, neither are the bosses, and the story is linear, but the plot is awesomely fleshed out, the train is so much loving fun to ride, New Hyrule is so huge for a handheld overworld, the new places and races are refreshing and Zelda is an awesome companion. Not to mention that the music is some of the best of any video game I've ever played, home consoles included, better than twilight princess or skyward sword by far. I wouldn't say it's the best in the series, since I haven't played enough to fairly judge, but it's really up there for me.

I play through Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time annually, and I can play through the original in like four hours, not that that's really impressive at all.

i'm playing through the original for my first time and i can't find the stupid 5th (I think?) dungeon

I'm trying to do it spoiler/walkthrough free though so don't tell me where it is, unless it's in or near the Graveyard, since I got there and then died.

I've only actually played through Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask and Phantom Hourglass, most of the games that came out afterwards weren't that interesting to me, been wanting to play the original for a while though.
Also ocot and mm I've played like a bajillion times, my n64 is rigged up with it in right now.

I have completed Ocarina of Time, Phantom Hourglass and currently am busy with Windwaker.
Phantom Hourglass was actually not bad IMO.

spirit tracks was better than phantom hourglass though

I still need to play the Zelda games. :(

spirit tracks was better than phantom hourglass though
Never played it actually, so i wouldn't know.
I might pick it up then at some point.

Also, clever title of topic is clever.
