I think that was too long, considering myst made statements like "like i dont understand why im being bashed so much".
Fair enough, it was an innocent joke. I've made jokes before about players names when they join, not to be mean at them, but just as a general joke between friends.
But, as far as I believe, it was apparent that myst wasn't picking up on it being a joke and was getting upset.
At that point I think you probably should've let him know you were just joking.
There's no real harm done, and I think both sides could probably come to understand each other and forgive and forget.
myst has to learn to not take things so personally (and if you are getting distressed by people then just leave, before you get too angry).
And Brickman could learn that sometimes jokes go over people's heads, and that it's best to let them know you're being jokey and mean no harm, especially if they seem to be taking offense or getting upset by the joke.
As a note to others in this topic, can we not start throwing the trolling card in, claiming people should be banned.
Trolling at it's most innocent is joking. If a joke is at someone's expense, that's trolling. But it doesn't make it inherintly wrong.
It's bannable on these forums because people have used it as an excuse for their poor behaviour.
And at times it goes too far, such as cases where you're actively causing arguments and harassing others just to get a response from them.
Just be careful with the word. It can mean more than one thing, and it's presence doesn't warrant a call to arms.
