Bump?

The dungeons look awesome now, and generate at roughly twice the speed. So that's cool.

the generator works? well that seems like it would be the toughest part, so how is the rest coming along?

Yeah it works, there are some pictures of it in the OP. The next step is to generalize props, then get the floors, roofs, and interior decorations in.

I'd be willing to assist with some generic building stuff, if ya still need help on that front. Tend to be rather random with my spare time but hey, any offer's better than none right? :D

Sure, any and all help is appreciated. Just come into my server if you see it up, and unless I'm doing something peculiar you'll be able to do whatever.

really scared that this might die.
it's so cool.

I'm just taking a break, I've had several since I've started this. I have been coding some client sided stuff recently, so I may get back into this soon.

Although I have also bought a whole lot of new steam games, sooo....

Really want to join. But i don't know how often this is hosted. :s
Overall it looks fantastic, and you should upload the ai separately in case anyone wants a better bot.

Does the gui and items transfer between sessions?

The AI wont work for most peoples uses. Its a specific system which doesn't really work for combat, its for task planning.

I'm not sure how/if i'll handle saving. I've previously decided that when you leave, an AI will take over your player. If you rejoin then you can take over from the AI, but if its died (which is quite likely if you're gone for more than an hour) you'll have to start over (either creating an entirely new player, or taking over an AI from your party (assuming the AI didn't leave it)).

I wanted to have each game session basically be an entire character. I hate the idea of having a single character that you can grind to ridiculously high levels.

What about quitting creates an ai that is what you were. then if it's still alive, it asks if you want to be them. If you make a new character, you can still go meet your past character.
It's neat, and this way you don't need to make characters. The server will populate itself. Also super abusable.

That's exactly what I said I was going to do.

Except its very unlikely that you'll be able to find your past self. You'll be spawned randomly far away.

I guess it is, Huh. Well all righty then. Good luck with that.
-wait, is the world infinite?

-wait, is the world infinite?

Its procedurally generated, so yes. It'll go out to the far lands (then it'll probably crash the server somehow).

I'm hosting now, not sure how long I'll stay up for though.

Bump.

I've got some very interesting progress to show off:

Click for higher framerate mp4 version.

This is all client sided, which is why it appears to float. The dice is recolorable, and I've made textures with white numbers and black numbers. Next up is getting it to roll to a number given from the server (so people cant cheat).
