Author Topic: Comcast "sped up" my internet to 50 Mbps  (Read 872 times)

Odd, because my computer usually gets around 1 Gbps on an Ethernet cable. I'll have to see if it changed when I get back. Something tells me it has something to do with Google Fiber...

...Also, I can't remember what it normally was. Sorry.

They've allegedly been doing that in areas where they are facing competition. You live in Kansas City by any chance?

Nope, Houston is where I'm at

300 kb/s and loving despising it!

The Comcast mechanic who came over to replace a bad wire "that was causing the complications" said that "sometimes it isn't steady, and it might just take a dip for a while".

I was like "oh, okay". And he fixed the wire. I played my game, yay, it worked and no lagging and I can finally watch youtube videos.

5 hours later, it started lagging again.

I swear on me mum they just "replaced the wire" and just put us on the exception list for "lol u suk u gut low internt" for a while so they wouldn't get a scream call.

I think Google Fiber is in or coming to Houston, so there ya go.

I think so as well.

Isn't google fiber like priced relatively cheap, like at about the same as anything considered "high speed" by comcast.

I use a cable company called "Fidelity"

and omg does it suck

They sped you up from 1 Gbps to 50 Mbps? What?
