I just realize Iban posted thus just yesterday and it nearly has as much views as the drama rules
whoa stuff

Events foreseen into the future:

Complaints get more numerous.
Badspot goes into rage.
Complaint threads (including this one) are failbinned.
Those who voiced complaints are banned.
Nothing revolutionary happens.
Repeat cycle.

However, that's not what happens.  There is this toxic concept of "idea stealing" that is deeply engrained in the community so that no one ever releases anything that they've made.  They run a server, then they stop and their creation is never seen again.  No one is allowed to play with their ball without them.
er, it's really more complicated than that

any server producer understands that its a lot of work to just transform your often complicated server into a gamemode. you need to list out or package all add-ons you used, all the bricks, and you need to make sure other people understand how to use it, and often it will require scripting to work properly because something that is automated in the gamemode was previously done manually by the host or an admin. most gamemodes need to be built as a gamemode from the beginning.

i can't just pick out a server of mine and release it. it's a lot of work to convert it into a gamemode for public use.

just goes to show the amount of people who read the rules

It all started with
wtf happened to RTB

and now we're here.

This is the entire problem with online games, or just video games in general in this age. The internet allows for the easy distribution of patches or game updates. However, the general concept now is that if a game still has a living player/fanbase, then the developers should update it. Granted, I agree with the fact most games should up updated until they're 'completed' in the style of how Minecraft was.

Basically, what I'm saying is there is a point where the game is considered 'completed' and where it is 'uncompleted', after which updates are unnecessary.

I think he means that lots of people have private game modes. Like with private add-ons, they somehow have a problem with other people having fun with it. It's stupid.

Ok, so then hats are added.

Then what? The community complains about how there aren't enough? Or that the update was a waste of time because not everyone's complaints about the game have been satisfied?

We have the new hat mod already. Key word is modding support

People complaining about updates (me included) don't seem to see the overall just of the situation.

No matter what happens to the game, most of us will still play it. I know I will, at least. To add to that, I don't remember the last time I downloaded an Add-On, because I simply don't need any. If anything, I need less. Most of the Add-Ons I don't use. I find the game entertaining by itself. Sure, Add-Ons enhance the experience, but sometimes too much enhancement is a bad thing.

I don't know about the rest of the community, but, no matter if Badspot decides to update it or run with his money, I will still play the game, because I just find it as an entertaining, fun game, and it has a nostalgic place in my heart.
