Author Topic: sims 4 is going to be awful, apparently  (Read 4543 times)

Sims 3: Ugly, inconsistent, weird realistic/cartoon bullstufftery
Sims 4: Artistic flow and style consistency
also less (possibly none!) billboarded leaves. forget that noise to the nth degree.

I feel like that this post is seriously way too nitpicky
In my opinion, the sims 4 looks way more better.

Compare those garden plants from both pictures.
Looks how awfully the sims 3 plants sticks out from the flat, bland texture of the grass
While compared to the sims 4 where everything is just all smooth

sims 4 has its art style figured out but the bloom on that house is killing me

The Sims: Console Edition

Seriously if this post is true they're essentially making the pc edition similar to what the current console editions are like. God bless us if there's a fire code...

Sims 3: Ugly, inconsistent, weird realistic/cartoon bullstufftery
Sims 4: Artistic flow and style consistency
And that artistic flow is in the style of softened, less detailed textures, fantastic.

Honestly, I like the style because I don't see a point where realistic textures in Sims would be anything less than creepy, so the logical step is to make it look normal but stylized. But seriously, no loving window transparency? stuff reflections in water? Plus all the other stuff EA is pulling? No thanks.

thank goodness for that. Now I won't have to spend a lot more money, Time to buy fifa 15 and advanced warfare.
OT:
No wonder why they made the sims 2 complete collection for free, I've been playing that and its amazing. I have never played the sims 3. I only have the sims 2 complete and sims 1 complete. They say they use a new "engine" for the game, this isn't FIFA, COD, Hl2, BTF, etc. If its a simulation game you shouldn't really be making a new engine, another thing is that in the sims 4 its given a cartoonish style graphics, Timesplitters 2 and team fortress 2 are given a cartoonish style too make the game a little more "kid" friendly and look funny, another thing is cartoonish games have really weird characters (such as the heavy, you can't be that strong in real life. Duckman drake from Timesplitters 2, ducks can't look like humans) The sims has never had any weird characters unless its the glitches in the sims 2. A cartoonish style for the sims 4 isn't really a good idea. In other words I don't think I will be playing this, and also EA aren't that trust worthy because in the sims there has always been "expansion packs" this is the same with most other games today but most games have a completed expansion pack called a "season pass". EA releases too many Expansions just to get more money, its ridiculous.

At the end of the year if EA makes a sims 3 complete collection, fine I'll buy it since I have heard good things about the sims 3

everyone will still buy it

everyone will still complain when it sucks despite various warning

EA doesn't learn from this

EA gets away with it

EA pulls this stuff again.

rinse and repeat.

Anyways, this really isn't news to me. I knew after they made the Sims 3, it was going to be awful.

Hell even I'm buying it. I'm nieve enough to still have hope the game won't suck!

pretty soon ea is going to release a game where you move a block around as an irrelevant sequel to a popular franchise and still make a profit

Inb4 Ingame Microtransactions that convert Simpoints to Simoleons

Might as well try to refund it.
$70 that I wasted, I was really looking forward to it.  *cry*

Good luck getting your money back from EA's dungeons
