Author Topic: HALF LIFE 2 VR WITH MOTION CONTROLS AND OCULUS IS AWESOME  (Read 1867 times)

The entire point of virtual reality is to SIMULATE REALITY, HURDUR.

Of course the person with the controler is going to play better than the person with the VR gear...
...Because that's REALITY

But saying that VR has no place in competitive multiplayer is just absolute BULLstuff. You simply can't have a VR system competing with a mouse or controller. That's one of the reasons most gamesystems don't have cross platform playing, a player with a full mouse and keyboard is going to have an advantage over the person with a controller. When VR systems start to hit the market you'll see just how handicapped you are.

Any VR game is going to need to be made for VR, currently everything is just a stuffty port.

I am having a hard time trying to figure out what your point is. You are both defending VR for competitive multiplayer and attacking it at the same time.

He could be saying VR vs controllers/mouse+keyboard wouldn't work for competitive multiplayer, but VR vs VR could happen.

That's what I thought he was saying.

In that case that would be reasonable, but it would not be a huge market for those; it would be solely splitting communities. Gathering people to play with would be fun though, but I don't see it as a good idea.

VR versus normal players doesn't appear to be very possible anyway considering it appears to mod base files, so unless people had the mod installed and didn't use the VR equipment necessary, it would be splitting communities in the first place.

Besides, there's much more interesting things you could do in VR vs VR matches that controller users can't necessarily do, such as being able to, in a sense, blind fire(fire a gun without looking, ex. from a corner, with your gun sticking out to shoot). It really opens up new tactics and adds variety.
