I thought it was either
A. During the black plague times when someone sneezed they would say bless you in hope that they didnt have the black plague
B. They thought someones heart stopped when they sneezed and they were blessed to be alive (i dont agree with this one being true so much)

there was a girl who got suspended because she took a blade away from a self-harm student who was about to cut themself
the school replied with something along the line of "she should of told the proper adult before doing something"
