I don't think a distinguished modder could handle such a large codebase on that qualification alone. He needs someone with experience with the Torque engine.

This is a big part of the issue I think. A lot of people here don't have much experience in game development. Even fewer have worked with torque or have experience working on fairly large projects, rarely both. Who says it has to be someone on this forum specifically, though? It could be anybody, really.

Honestly, Badspot, why not make a "development has ceased" thread? You've said yourself that you don't want to work on the game anymore. Make it official and get it over with, you know?

Or better yet, try to pass on development to someone else like people have been suggesting. I'm not saying it can be done just like that, but if it happens, you won't have anything to do with a community that you despise and the game might be kept alive a bit longer, maybe even made popular again if whoever takes it over is eager to develop it.

This, and I'm sure you can still make money from the game after the fact, since it is very much your creation. Lifts a weight off your shoulders, keeps a small source of income.

Nobody's saying Kalph should do it. Kalph suggested that the game should be given to people who want to work on it "like myself", and Badspot ironically responded with "haha i'll just give the game to kalphiter" and dismissed the idea only because Kalphiter posted it.
